24.01.2022 Today we celebrate the Feast of our Patron - St Luke the Evangelist. May the joy and truth of Luke’s Gospel transform our lives that we may be witnesses of the saving grace of God to the whole world. Let us ask God to send down the Spirit of mercy to empower us and enable us to share Christ with others. Almighty God, You inspired Your servant, Saint Luke Evangelist and Physician ... to illustrate in the Gospel the love and healing power of Your Son. In faithfully detailing Christ’s humanity, he also showed the divinity of Jesus and His genuine compassion for all the human family. May St Luke, our Patron, intercede for us that we may deepen our understanding of the Gospel and grow in compassion of Jesus. May his intercession enable our community to follow Your ways and plans for us. Amen! To all our parishioners, we wish you a most blessed Feast Day!

20.01.2022 Happy Pentecost! Today we celebrate the birth of the Universal Church the day Christ’s apostles were empowered by the Holy Spirit, burst open the doors and boldly proclaimed the Good News. At his Installation Mass last Monday, Archbishop Patrick spoke of being "overshadowed" by the Holy Spirit - allowing the Paraclete to surround and fill us, to fully and completely be part of us and guide us. Archbishop Patrick also spoke these words of acclaimed Mexican poet and mystic, A...mado Nervo,: Alone we are a spark, but in the Spirit we are a fire. Alone we are a string, but in the Spirit we are a lyre. Alone we are an anthill, but in the Spirit we are a mountain. Alone we are a drop, but in the Spirit we are a fountain. Alone we are a feather, but in the Spirit we are a wing. Alone we are a beggar, but in the Spirit we are a king. May the Holy Spirit fill our hearts this Pentecost giving us the courage and freedom to proclaim God’s peace, joy and forgiveness to the whole world. God bless you all on this great Feast of the Church!

20.01.2022 THE SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY TRINITY Today we celebrate the great mystery of the nature of God - Three persons in the One true and holy God. Let us pray... Glory be to the Father,... Who created us in the image and likeness of God. Glory be to the Son, Who through His Passion and Cross, triumphed over death and showed us the way to eternal life. Glory be to the Holy Spirit, Who cleansed us of original sin at our Baptism and blesses us with graces every day. Glory be to the Holy Trinity. With our voices and our hearts, we glorify You, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. You are great and do wonderful things. You alone are God. All praise and honour and glory are Yours now and forever, O most Holy Trinity. Amen! Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen!

19.01.2022 Praying the O Antiphons Together "O RADIANT DAWN" 21 December... Life can (understandably) become stressful and hectic in the days leading up to Christmas. In the commotion, it’s easy to forget the reason for the season Christ is coming! Rejoice! Take time to focus on the Nativity and be thankful for God’s indescribable gift - JESUS. Let us now spend a moment in contemplative prayer - alone or gathered with others - to pray the fifth of the O Antiphons, "O RADIANT DAWN". Open your heart and ask the Spirit of Faith, Hope, Joy and Peace to make the Church ready to receive Christ.

18.01.2022 It's NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK - when we recognise the priceless contributions of all our volunteers across the community. It's fair to say our Parish couldn't function but for the tireless work of volunteers... so to all those wonderful people helping out in the Parish Office, cleaning and gardening around the church, preparing Liturgy, visiting the sick, our Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Proclaimers of the Word, Music Ministers, various prayer group leaders, those in Children's Liturgy, the Craft Group coordinators, those decorating the church for the Liturgies, altar servers and sacristans... those helping broadcast Mass (a new one of late!)... to EVERYONE who gives up their time for our community in so many ways: THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!!

18.01.2022 "And that's a wrap!" This morning's broadcast of Mass from St Luke's was our last, as restrictions continue to be lifted. Special thanks to Fabio and Phil for bringing the Mass to our homes during the last few months.... Thank you everyone for joining us for the broadcasts, for your kind words of encouragement and for your feedback.

14.01.2022 DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.... You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You! Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen. I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen. Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

12.01.2022 This weekend we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sunday, with a theme of "Together in the Spirit". Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholics number over 130,000 and are growing strongly. As Australian Catholics, we acknowledge that God has been walking with the First Nations peoples, making His Presence known through a continuous living culture over tens of thousands of years.... We pray in thanksgiving for these ancient peoples who have enriched and sustained our continent over all that time. In particular, we praise God for the people who nurtured the land here in our Parish that we call home - the Kaurna people. We recognise their spiritual connection to this land and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

06.01.2022 Please note updated times for Sunday Masses - there is no longer a 10.30am Mass. Thank you.

05.01.2022 Please note that you no longer have to make bookings to attend any of the weekend Masses at St Luke's - however we are all still requried to adhere to social distancing rules and crowd sizes. Please follow any directions from sacristans and volunteers when you attend St Luke's. We are also asking all people who attend Mass to sign in. This is a formality, so that just in case any health concerns arise we can contact you. Thank you all again for your patience and prayers!

02.01.2022 SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST This great feast represents the Church’s official act of homage and gratitude to Jesus for instituting the Holy Eucharist, in which He gave us our greatest treasure. Today we celebrate the awesome mystery where humble gifts of bread and wine are, through the power of the Holy Spirit, made the true physical and spiritual presence of our saviour - the precious Body and Blood of Christ The Second Vatican Council proclaimed the ...following regarding the Eucharistic sacrifice: "The Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life. For the most holy Eucharist contains the Church’s entire spiritual wealth: Christ Himself, our Passover and living bread. May the Spirit of our merciful God pour out an abundance of grace on us today, transforming our hearts and minds to adore Jesus more fervently in the Sacrament of the Eucharist!
