14.01.2022 Parents and carers asked: "What is it? What do you do with it?" The children scraped, scooped and touched the mix, they explored what it could do. It stretched and oozed, yet it felt dry.......2 ingredients anyone know what?
12.01.2022 In response to the current situation regarding the pandemic COVID-19, we have decided to suspend term 1 Playgroup sessions a week early ie the sessions on 24th and 26th March will not be running. We will continue to monitor updates from the Victorian Education Department and will follow their advice as to recommencing Playgroup sessions. This link has current updates and advice. https://www.education.vic.gov.au//d/Pages/coronavirus.aspx We encourage you to continue providing play opportunities at home for your children and to get outside as much as you can. The internet is a great source for activity ideas. Check out the following Facebook pages: Playgroup Victoria; Playgroup Australia and The Wonderful World of Playgroup. See you all again soon.
11.01.2022 Our sausage sizzle at Bunnings Notting Hill was a great success. Thanks also to our local state member Matt Fregon who added his support.

09.01.2022 One of our playgroup families created this amazing outdoor kitchen in their back garden while theyve been home during the current COVID 19 restrictions. Their children love it and we can see why. What creative activities have you been doing at home with your children, wed love to hear about them?
09.01.2022 Playgroup has started back for Term 3 as has the train set by popular request. Train set play involves lots of social interaction as the children play close to each other and use the same track. This is a big challenge for very young children who have not yet developed the complex skill of sharing and adult involvement is important.
09.01.2022 Three jellyfish, three jellyfish, three jellyfish sitting on a rock... The children enjoyed making jellyfish at playgroup this week. Then they used their jellyfish while they sang the song.
08.01.2022 Playgroup starts this week 4th and 6th February! However, we are following the Victorian Education Department's advice: This recommendation is that parents/guardians/carers of students should ensure that any child/family member attending Playgroup returning from mainland China (not including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) who was in mainland China on or after Saturday 1 February 2020 is isolated at home and should not attend Playgroup until 14 days after they were last in mai...nland China. This recommendation does not apply retrospectively. It applies only to students who were in mainland China on or after 1 February 2020. The existing advice remains that children/family members attending Playgroup should ensure that any Playgroup attendee is isolated at home and should not attend Playgroup for 14 days if either of the conditions below are met. That is: following exposure to any confirmed novel coronavirus case; or after leaving Hubei Province. https://www.education.vic.gov.au//d/Pages/coronavirus.aspx

05.01.2022 Hello families. We are continuing to have a break from the on-site functioning of Playgroup at this time due to the COVID 19 pandemic. We are monitoring updates from the Victorian Education Department and as before following their advice in regard to restarting playgroup sessions. Our co-ordinator has been making contact with enrolled families to check in with them and provide support as required. There are many resources available to families with ideas for activities that can be done at home. One of these is Monash Library Service which under Library from Home has a large number of on-line story times and activities to enjoy. This is a challenging time for the community please stay safe and look after yourselves.
