25.01.2022 Last week, 24:7 Woodvale had a brilliant time! We began the night with Hide-and-Seek Pictionary, but with a playdough twist! Then everyone got a real workout during ‘Knights, Horses, Cavaliers’! It was a lot of crazy fun needing some quick cooperation and reactions. We then heard from Samuel, who discussed the importance of ‘change’ as a force for growth even when it is difficult and uncomfortable. Sam highlighted how, in the same way, that manure can help plants to grow,... God can work through negative experiences (i.e.. the metaphorical ‘manure’ in our own lives), to strengthen us through these difficulties. We concluded the night with free time, including an icy pole feast, board-games, Ultimate Ninja (and not to mention, Sam’s questionable playdough hair makeover!). We look forward to seeing everyone again next fortnight, where we will be exploring the theme of ‘emotional growth’! Also, stay tuned for more info on our end-of-term combined event extravaganza! We can’t wait to see you all soon!

20.01.2022 Beatifiction of Carlo Acutis (1991-2006) He was only 15 years old when he died in a hospital in Monza, Italy, in 2006, offering all his sufferings for the Church and for the Pope. Carlo Acutis, is being beatified on Saturday in Assisi. He was a normal, handsome and popular boy. A natural jokester who enjoyed making his classmates and teachers laugh. ... He loved playing soccer, video games, and had a sweet tooth. Carlo couldn't say "no" to Nutella or to ice cream. Putting on weight made him understand the need for self control. It was one of the many struggles Carlo had to overcome to learn how to master the art of self control, to master the virtue of temperance, starting by the simple things. He used to say, What’s the use of winning 1,000 battles if you can't beat your own passions?
16.01.2022 Today we honour St Luke, a role model for us all in living out Christ’s care for the little ones: women, the poor and children. It is in Luke’s Gospel that so m...any women lead in bearing, identifying, praising or serving God, as they so often do in our Catholic schools. Luke’s Jesus also brings Good News to the poor. He says that the poor, hungry and oppressed are the Blessed ones in His kingdom. St Luke, pray for us! See more
14.01.2022 LOCATION ANNOUNCED Our last event of the year will be at Whitford Catholic Primary School Oval. Let your youth ministers know if you can make it.
13.01.2022 Last Friday at 24:7 Woodvale we had an awesome week! The night started with us playing real-life "Among Us." This saw everyone try to complete their tasks before the imposters could take out all of the crewmates! After two rounds we moved on to the content of our night. Tom Brennan, a past attendee of 24:7 spoke to us about the importance of our spiritual life and its growth. After, we were all given a time where we could reflect on our own spiritual journey. We ended the night praying together and thanking God for each other and our night.
11.01.2022 24:7 Woodvale finished the school holidays with a bang last Friday! In the morning, we combined with the other Northern 24:7 youth groups, for a paint war at Whitfords Nodes park and a very colourful mess ensued! The battle was followed by a pizza lunch and a quick splash on the beach. At youth group that same night, we kicked back with a movie night, watching the DreamWorks classic The Road to El Dorado! We had our own pile of yummy wealth to snack on as we enjoyed the night together. Join us next week, to see the shenanigans we have instore for term four!
09.01.2022 Last Friday, 24:7 Woodvale had a fantastic evening, as we began our new term topic of ‘growth’! The highlight of the night was playing multiple rounds of ‘Empires’; a game where the objective is to conquer as many other peoples ‘empires’ as possible, using clever detective work! This was followed by a brief introduction to the term theme given by Angela. ... Lastly, we feasted on icy poles and an assortment of other treats, while enjoying each other’s company during free time! Next week, we are excited to be expanding on our term theme of ‘growth’ as we look at the topic of ‘emotional growth’! We hope to see you there!
07.01.2022 Today marks the feast day of a saint I was blessed to meet on a number of occasions and who had a profound influence on my life- St John Paul II. This Polish-b...orn Pope appointed me as a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life, the Vatican’s bioethics think tank. His legacy on our Church is profound across moral theory, bioethics, social justice and the family. He founded World Youth Day and other adventures in the new evangelisation. As the most influential Pope in a millennium, he will no doubt continue to inspire countless generations to come. St John Paul the Great, pray for us!
