Dr Middleton introduced the girls to the work of the great philosopher Marcus Aurelius after which the girls focused on their own footprints and the affirmative steps they can take as leaders of our school.

24.01.2022 If you are looking for an activity on a Friday lunchtime when we are back on campus, why not try the Dungeons and Dragons Club at the Senior Boys Campus? This is attracting boys from a wide variety of year levels and is led by Callum and Joel in Year 12. What a great way to use the power of your imaginations!

23.01.2022 Year 7 students had a terrific time today, working on a science catapult design experiment with pre-service teacher Miss Dunwoody from Melbourne University.

23.01.2022 What a wonderful way to end their week! In Year 7 Music, students are learning to play duets on the piano/keyboard. Using the familiar ‘Ice Cream Chords’ harmony and several songs that fit with this chord structure, students develop a duet to play including both harmony and melody parts and incorporating some improvisation an activity that can be adapted to students at any level of piano proficiency. Vienna Thornton and Sandrine Nugara are well on their way to an entertaining performance!

Of our Senior Boys 27% achieved an ATAR over 90 and 48% an ATAR above 85, placing them in the top 10% and 15% of the nation respectively. 4 perfect scores of 50 were attained in Applied Computing: Data Analytics, English, Further Maths and Health and Human Development. 17.01.2022 In another new experience for Transitions Week, boys tried Yoga to begin their day - and were surprised by how challenging it was! Yoga can be a great transition as it warms the body up for the day, and can often require so much focus that we enter a state of "flow". The final survey at the end of the week will show if the boys like Yoga as a way to start their day!

12.01.2022 This week some of our Year 5 and 6 students took the opportunity at lunchtime to link up with Year 6 students from Firbank Grammar (Sandringham House) to view their live virtual PYP Exhibition presentations via Microsoft Teams. It was great to see our students actively involved in listening, asking questions and providing wonderful feedback to their PYP peers, and again showed the value of belonging to and engaging with the PYP community as an IB World School. Here is a copy of the message we received from Firbank afterwards: ‘Thanks again Melissa. All our kids are raving about how wonderful your students were as an audience. Please make sure you congratulate them on that.'

Here are some of the members of the SIS Chess Team celebrating their win, and the four members of the Debating Team who took our the top level debating trophy.
