25.01.2022 Stage 2 had their RAW Art incursion today. Mrs Delrennie says We created Kookaburra print art. Students created their own leaf stamp for the border. Using a stencil template, they applied paint with a sponge for the kookaburra’s body then used a paint stamping technique to create the branch and feather details. This art complemented our learning in Science and our participation in the Aussie Backyard Bird Count. Great job Year 3 and 4!

16.01.2022 To finish Year 3 and 4's Melting and Freezing unit for Science & Technology, students were challenged to use the information they gathered in their investigations for a Chocolate Challenge. They were asked to come up with a creative and interesting chocolate creation that demonstrated their understanding of the melting, freezing and solidifying process. They each put some chocolate in a bag to melt it in the sun and worked with it as it solidified to make their creations. They did a great job! (Unfortunately, they couldn't eat their creations due to Covid restrictions)

We saw a handprint cave painting and learnt that different coloured paints are used to represent different sites (community, sacred women’s or sacred men’s sites) Observing National NAIDOC Week in Garigal-Nationalpark

07.01.2022 The chickens in our kindy classroom have finished hatching and we are learning to care for them. We have been learning all about what living things need and how they provide things for us. 02.01.2022 This week our students are enjoying art incursions with RAW Art. This morning it was Kindy and Stage One’s turn to get creative. Mrs Bragge says we were lucky enough to use clay and learn skills to mould and join clay to create chicken sculptures inspired by the chicken hatching program we have in the classroom. It was a lot of fun and great learning. Did you know that to join clay you need to draw crosses on two pieces of clay and use some water to smooth the pieces together?
