13.01.2022 Celebrated on the Sunday after Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday is based on the Catholic devotion to the Divine Mercy that St Faustina Kowalska reported as part of h...er encounter with Jesus. It was given this title by Pope John Paul II, following the canonisation of St Faustina on 30 April 2000. The message she brought is the appropriate and incisive answer that God wanted to offer to the questions and expectations of human beings in our time, marked by terrible tragedies. See more

12.01.2022 Daily Reflection ~ 10 APRIL 2020 ~ Good Friday... Lord Jesus, let us enter into your silence. You have said everything you had to say. Now you have no further words, as you hear the judge's verdict, and the cries of the crowd calling for your death. Your silence is our strength: as you left everything in your Father's hands, so now do we, knowing that an infinite love will find us wherever we are. We pray for all who are unjustly condemned, for all who feel disgrace, for all who suffer from the merciless judgments of our world. As we stand with you, stand also with us, a light against the surrounding darkness. https://www.cssr.org.au/bread4today/

09.01.2022 Pledge your support to #EndCOVIDForAll now! Caritas Australia has spent over fifty years working hand in hand with people suffering extremes of poverty. The num...ber of people who need lifesaving food assistance is projected to double this year alone as a result of COVID-19, and almost 10 million children may never return to school as a result of the lockdowns. Help us to encourage the Australian Government to support our vulnerable neighbours. This Wednesday, August 19, write #ECFA on a disposable face mask and share a photo of yourself wearing it on social media, using the hashtag #EndCOVIDForAll. 01.01.2022 Daily Reflection ~ 12 APRIL 2020 ~ Listen! Christ is rising in the contemporary world... Fear is powerful and often all-consuming. Even the most intelligent and usually rational person will be overwhelmed by it in the face of something like a pandemic and its far-reaching impacts. And in this 2020 Easter season, COVID-19 is dominating our contemporary world a virus that carries fear and uncertainty as it spreads. When most afraid, it’s hard to listen. It’s hard to hear those words that the Angel by the tomb, and then the risen Christ spoke to Mary Magdalene and the other Mary in Matthew’s gospel Do not be afraid. But if you do breathe and listen, there’s great comfort in those words. What’s the job I’m being asked to do by the risen Christ, given the circumstances we find ourselves in this Easter of 2020? How do we find the comfort we need to dispel our fears and become useful? This Easter’s going to be a great time to contemplate what the risen Christ is asking of us and then get on with it. Fear is not particularly helpful or productive, except perhaps as a motivator or catalyst for action. In this contemporary world, consumed by COVID-19, the risen Christ continues to seek us out in our fear, so we can move through it, to positive action. Lord help us turn our fear into positive actions. Amen.
