18.01.2022 On this special day our School Captains Mahli and Ryder would normally be representing our school at the ANZAC Day service. Thank you to them both for marking this day in two very different but respectful ways. Ryder Johnston stood at the end of his driveway for the dawn service and he presented a poem in honour of our ANZACs. Ryder then presented our wreath in the quiet of the morning at the Sale Memorial Hall. Mahli prepared a special ANZAC day message from her home fo...r all our families. Lest We Forget

13.01.2022 Australias first Saint is a woman for today... This year is the 10-year anniversary of the canonisation of Saint Mary of the Cross. At Mary MacKillop Today, we... are reflecting this Feast Day on the qualities and actions that set Mary apart, and how her legacy continues to be relevant today and how we find hope in her values, character, and actions as a remarkably strong female leader. Right now, in such uncertain and difficult times, we can look to Mary for what it means to persevere. 12.01.2022 This week is National Child Protection Week, which is in its 30th year. The theme for 2020 is: ‘Putting children first’ which is the same theme when it was lau...nched in 1990 bringing abuse and neglect out of the shadows and putting child wellbeing on the national agenda. Putting children first means prioritising the safety and wellbeing of children. To grow up well children need to feel safe and loved, have a chance to play and explore, have a say in decisions that affect them, and access to essential things like food, shelter and healthcare. ‘Tips for talking to children about personal safety’ has been provided to parishes to share with parish families through their networks. You can also visit the NAPCAN website https://www.napcan.org.au/ for more information and resources. See more

09.01.2022 The Catholic Church celebrates today the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is a very special Feast Day for us at St Marys Sale and has been a day of celebration even in lockdown. Today all our families celebrated the birthday of Mary at home in many different ways. Some baked a cake, others are spending time watching a movie together. Here at school we tried to keep the traditions going with our small group of staff and students by lighting the candles on our chocolate ripple cake and singing happy birthday to Mary. We also planted seedlings into pots to brighten the day of some special older residents. We hope your day was filled with the love of Mary and of your family and that you were able to give a small act of kindness to those around you.
