13.01.2022 Congratulations - Kaylan Tran! We are excited to announce that Kaylan Tran's artwork has made it through to the final stage of judging and his work will be part of the this year's exhibition. Kaylan submitted the following written reflection along with his artwork. ... I chose this scripture passage as it shows that the long awaited Messiah is finally here to take care of his people and spread the word of the Lord. I drew Mary clutching on to Jesus to express how much love she has for him. I also illustrated this to show how much she is willing to sacrifice for us. I drew a halo around Jesus and Mary to represent the holiness and new life we are given. I made the background white to frame and represent the purity of Jesus and Mary. The pink water colour is to show the love Jesus and Mary have for each other and all of us. I used pencil to create my artwork because I wanted to portray the soft and caring nature of Mary. It allowed me to add extra details and express the subject's emotions. Congratulations Kaylan, the St Mary's school community wish you all the best.
