25.01.2022 This week in Year 2 we have been learning about fractions. We created toucans by folding, marking and painting a half, a quarter and eighths of a paper plate.

20.01.2022 Year 6 have chosen their two speakers to represent St Marys at the Southern Region Speech Competition. Congratulations to Chelsea and Laylah. It was a very close contest and we need to mention our five other finalists who did such a terrific job. They were Millie H, Millie K, Annabelle, Roy and George.

17.01.2022 3/4 started today building our own mandala in the Sacred Heart Parish prayer garden as part of our daily Christian meditation. Father George loved our reverence, and prayer intentions. The perfect way to start Spring in the sunshine offering prayers to God.

13.01.2022 Science in Year 6 this week had the students creating a waterwheel that can raise a weight. Their investigation was to make two wheels and test them out to find which is the more efficient.

08.01.2022 Yesterday we welcomed our Kinder 2021 students for the second of their orientation mornings. We had so much fun! Everyone is very excited about coming to ‘big school’ next year.

08.01.2022 Maths Mapping fun! Today Year 5 used the Basketball court to find the locations of various tokens and plot them on a map. An extra challenge was using a compass pathway task card to draw the route from one location to another. Year 5 enjoyed the challenge. What a beautiful day to enjoy some outdoor maths today.

07.01.2022 In Year 2N we have written a different ending to the story Tiddalick the Frog. We have brainstormed ideas, written drafts, self and peer edited and today we are PUBLISHING like real authors on the chrome books!

Last week in Year 2 we combined materials to make a mixture and we made bath bombs.

01.01.2022 This week Year 2 tested our bath bombs to see if the temperature of the water affected how quickly they dissolved once in the water. The result...you get more fizz if your bath water is hot!...but your bath bomb will last longer if your bath water is cold! Learning can be so much fun!
