23.01.2022 During Science lessons, Year 3 have been learning about the three states of matter: liquids, solids and gases. They have explored the properties and behaviours of each through different investigations and experiments.

22.01.2022 Year One took part in an incursion with Fizzics Education in order to further explore their current Science unit, Material World. Students learned about different chemical reactions when mixing different liquids, solids and gases. Many of the experiments could be conducted again at home with regular household items! --

21.01.2022 This week is National Bus Safety Week. During this week we encourage our community to stay safe on and around buses. Parents and carers please remember to: Always hold your child’s hand when crossing the road and walking to and from the bus stop. Always meet your child at school or the bus stop, not on the opposite side of the road. ... Wait until the bus has gone, then use a safe place to cross the road. Further road safety information can be found at the NSW Government Safety Town site.

07.01.2022 At SMSJ we are helping students develop a grateful heart by promoting an attitude of gratitude. After reading Aesops Fable - Androcles and the Lion, students brainstormed everything they are grateful for and recorded these on their personal lion paws.

06.01.2022 Year 5 have been focusing on the Colonisation of Australia. Each student created a fictional historical character and researched what a typical day was like in their chosen colony. The students orally presented their findings in character to the other SMSJ classes. Here are our very clever Year 5 students in costume.
