22.01.2022 August 11th 1845 was the day of the first wedding at St Matthias' Windermere. Since then, many couples have used this picturesque setting as an intimate venue to take their wedding vows. This year we had hoped to celebrate 175 years since this historic event: the wedding of Sarah Plummer and William Rosevear. We would love to hear from any other people who have been married here, so that at some future time we can contact them to join us in the celebration. Please share this and get back via Messenger if you can help us trace as many people as possible.

Church is back on at Holy Trinity this Sunday (5 July) - one service only with a temporary starting time of 9.30am. 19.01.2022 Working Bee this Saturday, and Produce Stall at Holy Trinity. Just a reminder that this Saturday, Nov 7th, there will be a Working Bee in the grounds of St Matthias’ starting at 9am, concentrating on weeding, spraying, spreading woodchips on the riverbank area and replacement of the wooden road edging. We would appreciate it if you can provide a whipper snipper, shovel or your personal gardening tools/bucket and gloves. Morning tea/coffee will be provided, and a BBQ sausag...e for those who can linger longer. At the same time, at Holy Trinity in town, there will be the first of this year’s Produce Stalls, selling a wide range of vegie seedlings, preserves, vegetables and fruits, and cakes/biscuits, (especially ANZAC biscuits for Remembrance Day!). Any donations you can offer would be gratefully accepted from 8am onwards on the Cameron St side of the church, near the hall, opposite The Grand Chancellor. Lemons always sell well! All proceeds go towards our ABM Mission Fund. We do hope you will be able to support us in some way. See more

12.01.2022 It was such a beautifully calm and mild evening for reflection in the grounds of St Matthias' on All Saints Day . As the sun dipped over the river in the western sky, the battery-powered tea lights twinkled around the graveyard and in the Columbarium Wall. Precious memories of our loved ones.

08.01.2022 Church on Sunday (9.30am) at Holy Trinity.

06.01.2022 It was a cool evening for our annual Christmas Eve Carols Service, but neither the weather nor the COVID restrictions could stop the community of 100 people joining together in praise and fellowship. This was our first service at St Matthias' since April. So much to be thankful for. Thanks to all who contributed, especially our new Senior Assoc Priest, Rev John Tongue and his family (wife Shirley, and adult children Peter and Kimberley) who have joined Holy Trinity Parish from Devonport. Dane has given John particular responsibility for St Matthias’ and St James’ for worship and pastoral care, so we look forward to getting to know them better. We are also excited that services will re-start at St Matthias’, sometime early in 2021, depending of course on how soon COVID can be contained.

03.01.2022 What a fantastic community effort at our Working Bee today! 21 people gathered at St Matthias', armed with whipper snippers, shovels, weeders, sprayers and hammers, and left after 6 hours of hard work and good coffee leaving the grounds looking amazing. Thanks so much to everyone involved, and to the Careys from Mt Direction who donated a truckload of woodchips for the riveredge native garden. Tomorrow at Holy Trinity we celebrate Defence Sunday. This is a good opportunity to pray for our Forces, past and present.

01.01.2022 We are delighted to announce the appointment (subject to some formalities) of the Venerable John Tongue as Senior Associate Priest in the parish of Holy Trinity as from late 2020/early 2021 (exact date to be confirmed). John will be a wonderful addition to our ministry team.

01.01.2022 For a number of years we have run a special All Saints Day service at St Matthias’, Windermere. Unfortunately, it cannot be held this year due to COVID space restrictions, but you are invited to leave a battery operated tealight in the church grounds on Sunday evening (Nov.1st 7-8pm) in memory of family or friends, and to spend a moment there in quiet personal reflection. Should you be unable to attend but would like a candle left for a specific loved one, please message us.

01.01.2022 Service for Sunday 14 June is now available. We hope to be back to regular services soon, but the online versions will continue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xZ5ZgWyWX4
