19.01.2022 Hi women of St Matt's. I have just found out about something streaming tonight that looks good and I wanted to share. It's an online dramatic production telling the Easter events from the perspective of 5 women who witnessed it all. Women are *really* important in the Easter story. Come along too if you're able. 19.01.2022 I was reading through Philippians 4 today and a familiar and yet overlooked truth got my attention. In it, verses 11-12 to be specific, Paul explains how he’s l...earned to be content in all circumstances. The ironic thing being that we typically consider this verse and attempt to put it into practice when the circumstance is negative (brought low, hunger, in need). Yet Paul had to learn to be content when everything was all good too (abounding, plenty, abundance). I’d argue that neglecting the practice of finding contentment in the Lord when everything is fine and dandy is what leaves us joyless and discontent when everything hits the fan. And praise God that the seasons of abundance and plenty are exactly that, seasonal. If they lasted too long, we’d be to driven into delusions. Telling ourselves that our joy is in the Lord when it’s actually in the Lords gifts.
