22.01.2022 From September 1 to October 4, the Christian family celebrates the good gift of creation. During the Season of Creation, we unite as one family in Christ, celebrating the bonds we share with each other and with every living creature on Earth. (Genesis 9:10). For World Day of Prayer for The Care of Creation at St Michaels Thirroul each class come out to our beautiful new outdoor prayer space for a prayer lead by our Leaders of Faith Team. Each class received a small plant to place on their class prayer space to remind them to care for Gods creation. It was an extremely special and moving way to celebrate this special day.

17.01.2022 Today marks RU Ok? Day. Here at St Michaels the students and teachers are joining in with the spirit of the day. Wearing something yellow, engaging in activities in the classroom, utilising some of the prayers and videos. The staff are enjoying a half hour break with a colleague that they do not see often because of our staggered breaks, coffee seems to be the order of the day! Our key message today is to ensure that we remember to always ask RU Ok? We hope that our wonderful community today also takes the chance to stop to spend some time with a friend and enjoy a conversation.

12.01.2022 Looking for some #StayHome school holiday activities to keep the family entertained? Catholic Schools NSW has some ideas below to get you started...... Do you have an activity to add to the list? Let us know! Build a cubby house, tent or fortress using sheets, chairs, tables or cardboard boxes. Try cloud watching! Can you see animals or shapes? Tell a story about them as they float across the sky. Write a letter! Find out a grandparent's or friends address and send them a letter or a picture you have drawn. Cook together! How about making a jam using seasonal fruit? Don't forget to design a label for your jam. Get artistic with chalk! Draw a hopscotch court or your favourite images on the footpath outside your house. Go on a photo safari! Choose a subject (or colour scheme) and see what you can 'capture' around the house. Try mindfulness! Choose a quiet spot to spend 5-10 minutes every day. What can you see, feel, smell, hear? Does it change from day-to-day? Explore nature treasures! Collect leaves or flowers, press them in a notebook and write notes to remind you of when and where you found them.
