20.01.2022 Looking back through the history of Bullens (which operated in Yatala for 19 years until 1988), it wasn't without it's controversy and questionable WHS practices! Staff would ride around in cages to feed the animals, and guests at the park had to keep their windows up (in their non air conditioned cars) to prevent unwanted guests hopping in the car. Several staff reported being scratched and bitten by hyenas and tigers, and sadly, one staff member was killed by a lion pride... while guests witnessed from their car. 19.01.2022 Exploring Logan's history is really interesting! Did you know that Beenleigh Artisan Rum Distillery is Australia's oldest and continuously working rum distillery? Founded in 1885, the distillery still runs from the original stone building and continues to use the same copper pot still, and was added to the Queensland heritage Register in 2004. #StokesLawyers #StayStokedinLogan #BeenleighArtisanDistillery

14.01.2022 If this isn't the start to the week that you needed, we don't know what is. You can actually end up in jail for a YEAR if found guilty of this crime. We checked. It's true. Apparently guano is quite a good fertiliser so maybe the WA Government wants to keep it all for themselves.... or perhaps it's the fact that it can be highly toxic and so they are just looking out for the health of the public? 11.01.2022 The #KingstonButterFactory has seen a lot since it's development in 1907. The red brick cladding that is not iconic for the factory was added in the 1930s at the height of it's operations when it was churning out 40 - 50 tonnes of butter A WEEK! We can't wait to see the redevelopment of the site into the Cultural Precinct that the Council is working on.... 02.01.2022 We made a joke on our Facebook about being glad the lions at Bullen's African Lion Safari Park in Yatala were in the park and not out and about like the Logan crocodile, but did you know an Indian Elephant aptly named Jumbo, escaped from the park and was found digging through rubbish bins in suburban Beenleigh in the middle of the night?! #StayStokedinLogan #StokesLawyers #CityofLogan
