16.01.2022 Feeding time. My feathered friends arrive twice a day to feed on grain bought especially for them. Sunflower seeds are the favourite (grey/striped.. black ones are not good... they loose their plumage). This king parrot is semi -tame and prefers to be fed by his mum (me). The crimson rosella parrots are a little cowed by the kings.

10.01.2022 This drought is making every day more and more difficult. My cattle herds are losing weight fast. I can see all my good care and attention to their wellbeing falling apart. Every day without rain means more suffering, despite the feed I give them, because it is so expensive and hard to find. Spending a few moments at the end of each day watching these magnificent king parrots feed helps to alleviate some of the negatives I must deal with throughout the day. The bird life here is truly magnificent.
