25.01.2022 Our busy toddlers love spending time outside. To extend on their interest and desire to be outside, they have been spending time in the garden, learning about how to take care of our plants and all the different elements that come with gardening. #SparrowEarlyLearning

24.01.2022 Even the bugs are breaking free from isolation and are now enjoying their free time in the very fancy bug hotel that the children created. What started off as an idea and a pizza box in the garden, then evolved and transformed as the children came up with new ideas to improve their bug hotel. We hope the bugs have fun in their new hotel.

23.01.2022 A simple hello can lead to a million things. ~ R U OK? I think we can all agree that 2020 has been a struggle for many people within our lives and community. This year 'R U OK Day' seems more important then ever. Today, the 10th of Sept is 'R U OK Day' and in recognition we encouraged everyone to wear something yellow. Maddie our cook also made the children and educators some yellow cupcakes to enjoy, which put a smile on a lot of faces. ... Don't forget that while you are checking in to see if the people around you are ok, that you check in with yourself too. 'R U OK?' It's ok not to feel ok. 20.01.2022 Our fairy garden has evolved as the children write and draw their wishes on colourful strips of paper and hang them to the trees. This practice is a Japanese tradition as a part of the Tanabata festival (Star festival) celebrated on the 7th of July.

20.01.2022 What a 'Glorious' Wednesday. #wearesparrow #dancingwithsparrow

20.01.2022 At Stones Corner we have been working on being more sustainable and educating the children about recycling. Our toddlers have been enjoying creating masterpieces out of the recycled items we have been collecting rather then throwing in the bin. How sweet are their faces as they concentrate on their creations? Do you have any sustainable practices or recycling ideas for us?... #WeAreSparrow See more

19.01.2022 Do you leave room in your garden for the fairies to dance?... We do.

17.01.2022 We didn't know we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun - Winnie the Pooh #SparrowEarlyLearning

16.01.2022 Our nursery friends have been using mirrors to explore facial features and do self portraits. It was a beautiful morning with everyone set up under the trees painting.

15.01.2022 Our light boxes have opened up a whole new world for the children as they explore colours and reflection. Stand aside for a while and leave room for learning, observe carefully what children do, and then, if you have understood well, perhaps teaching will be different from before. ~ Loris Malaguzzi

14.01.2022 At Stones Corner we are very lucky to have beautiful leafy yards. On days with lovely weather, the children embrace a sleep room with a more natural vibe and enjoy sleeping under the trees in the fresh air. #SparrowEarlyLearning

14.01.2022 Our Junior Kindy children love their loose play table. The chitter chatter of their little voices fill the room as they investigate the items on the table which encourages self-directed, experimental learning.

14.01.2022 Everyone roll up to our car wash. Our nursery friends enjoyed cooling off with some water play as they were busy washing the cars. You could hear our friends chatting amongst themselves as they experimented with a variety of brushes. It was also lots of fun to use our hands for splashing in the water. ... Just like when a child holds a pencil, using or gripping a brush for example, helps children to begin developing the important fine and gross motor skills they need for learning to write. It is also great for the cognitive, visual and developmental skills.

13.01.2022 Our Junior Kindy children have been keen explorers as they learn about the ocean and its sea life. From creating their own ocean, sea creatures and decorating shells these little explorers have thoroughly enjoyed their ocean adventures. #SparrowEarlyLearning

11.01.2022 After a bit of wild weather last week, we were excited to work on our special garden today. Our mint, beans and parsley are growing well and we used some of our 'worm tea' from our worm farm to water them. Our mesh tent sits on top of the garden as Harry the Scarecrow needed some help keeping the possums away. Poor Harry our scarecrow had a hard time last week with all the storms. Lucky he has a nice tree to lean on and lots of smiling faces to visit him.

11.01.2022 The children have been waiting so patiently and are always asking when dancing and soccer will return? I am very pleased to announce that Dance Along and Gingersports lessons will finally be returning this week. Don't forget to register your child for Dance Along lessons (Every Tuesday at 9:15am) and/or Gingersports lessons (Every Thursday at 10am)

10.01.2022 With our Kindy children starting to discuss going to school, some of our Snr Kindy children have started becoming interested in school too. They had a great day doing school work at their very own school.

09.01.2022 Our Senior Kindy friends have been enjoying music and instruments so much that they decided to make their own. Taking the classroom outside in to the beautiful weather, the Senior Kindy children made their own drums and shakers before playing in their own band. #SparrowEarlyLearning

08.01.2022 Happy Hour with Jnr Kindy #wearesparrow

07.01.2022 The children have thoroughly enjoyed being Scientists this week for Science week. The educators have created new experiments for the children each day which have been so engaging that the children are always asking for more! The children have also been able to learn about observation as some of their experiments took time to get to their final stages.

05.01.2022 Children have an innate curiosity, sense of wonder and a strong desire to learn. They are very capable of creating their own learning path driven by their interests, their interactions with others and the environment around them. #SparrowEarlyLearning #TheSparrowWay #Curiosity #EarlyLearning #ReggioEmiliaInspired #Exploration #ChildLedLearning

04.01.2022 The children love caring for their worms. It is always so exciting to open up our worm farm and see all of our healthy worms wriggling around. Having a worm farm has also encouraged the children to think about a more sustainable solution for their food scraps rather than just throwing them in the bin. #SparrowEarlyLearning #WeAreSparrow

01.01.2022 Sorry families but the children have worms... But don't worry they are compost worms. The children were very excited to build our worm farm and then place the worms in their new home. We have been learning about what worms like to eat, how to keep their house nice and how we can use 'worm juice' on our gardens.

01.01.2022 Our Nursery friends have been busy caring for their babies. They have all been so gentle and caring as they was and dry their baby doll. Playing with dolls is a great way for children to learn about empathy and compassion not to mention it helps their social skills and is an appropriate resource for learning about respect and the body.
