25.01.2022 Monday Sponsor Spotlight Better Rural Health Services We have a anonymous sponsor from a very generous local farming family. They wish to create awareness around the gap in the delivery of quality health care that exists between city and rural remote communities.... There are many factors that contribute to the gap in providing optimal delivery of health care in rural and remote communities; some of these are location, socioeconomic factors and distribution of health work force, transport accessibility, appointment times and limited access to general medical services. Health providers in rural and remote communities do deliver good health care however there are many services that they are unable to provide and access to specialist care can be difficult for the reasons outlined above. Research has shown that rural communities are good at providing support to people who need extra care but ultimately it is up to the health care system to provide better access to services this can be provided through services like multipurpose programs visiting specialist care and the funding to employ trained health care staff and support transport and accommodation costs when people need to travel outside the local area. The family lives in the local area and work within the local health care system. When they were asked to consider the possibility to sponsor a race at the Stony Creek Races they saw it as an opportunity to create awareness around the disparity in the delivery of quality health care in rural and remote areas. So please look after your health and thank your local regional health care providers for the important role they play keeping us healthy.

25.01.2022 As per Government COVIDSafe event regulations there will be no tickets available at the gate for any of our remaining race meetings and entry will not be permitted for those that don't reserve their tickets. We still have tickets available for our February 2nd and February 15th meetings at www.scrc.com.au Currently we are waiting for Government approval for a larger crowd at our Ladbrokes Stony Creek Cup so unfortunately we only will have tickets available for members only at this time. Once member allocations are exhausted we will make General Public tickets available.
