18.01.2022 Artist Profile - Michael Parker. Artist/owner of Stony Creek and Michael Parker Galleries in Daylesford. I was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1968 and while growing up I was surrounded by artistic creativity, sitting by my mother’s side as she painted. With the aroma of linseed oil in the air, it wasn’t long before I picked up a brush. It was from here that I began my journey into the exciting world of art.... Painting various subjects, from portraits to abstracts, I spent many years in Europe, observing the techniques and styles of the masters. Upon returning home, in 1996, I was commissioned to paint Donald Bradman walking out onto the MCG in 1937. This painting was made into a limited edition print, 20 of which were signed by Sir Don himself. Now, with some three decades of experience behind me, I feel at ease painting many different styles and using the wonder of nature’s many colours as my theme. I love to explore all mediums, often using acrylics, oils, pencil, pastel, and texture, all in the one painting. I have found my haven in beautiful Spa Country, Daylesford (Victoria), where I am truly inspired by the magnificent views and lakes surrounding me. I am thankful everyday for my wonderful family, who gave me the gift of art, for which I will be forever grateful. I currently have works in private collections throughout Australia and in over 12 countries worldwide.

04.01.2022 Stony Creek Gallery and Michael Parker Gallery are officially declared Re-Opened and we are happy to welcome visitors back through our doors. Our new opening hours at both galleries are: Thursday through to Monday 11- 4 with the galleries being closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. We trust we won’t be inconveniencing anyone, and will be monitoring to see how this works for all.... We are mindful of physical distancing and so we will be limiting numbers, asking customers to respect others in the gallery, sanitise hands on entry and to ask for assistance if a piece of work is of interest.
