25.01.2022 Doing some verts today...Unfortunately not on a surfboard, but the 66ft straight boom from @coateshire helped us access these 9m joints which needed some rejuvenation. @ Brookwater Village Shopping Centre
25.01.2022 Staying informed and armed with knowledge. We can all tackle this virus by adhering to what the scientists and medicos are telling us. We at StopGaps want to protect ourselves and families but of course our clients, suppliers and other contractors we come into contact with. We all have a duty of care toward each other in this fight. Becoming accredited with some COVID 19 training, we help our global village become a safer place for everyone. Thanks to my colleague Clare @southern_epoxy_flooring for making me aware of this training. #togetherwearestronger #stayhome
25.01.2022 Another beautiful project by @bespokeconstructions and what a pleasure it was to work with the amazing block layers who did this wall. The backside of the wall was finished perfectly smooth, making our job not only easier but more effective. Cant wait to see the rest of this project unfold over the next few months. @ Norman Park, Queensland, Australia
25.01.2022 Retaining wall access for waterproofing. Who else has to put themselves into the situation where the builder wants the job done but have not prepared the area correctly? Retaining walls require very detailed waterproofing across a large area. Having limited access to the wall and footing compromises this process because what you cant see or access will get poorly detailed which could result in a compromised finish. A bit like filling a bathtub up with the plug out and expect...ing it to hold water. As waterproofers we have to sign off on the jobs we do with a form16. Working with the above situation puts the onus on us to overcome the badly prepared situation. Is there another way to waterproof this? Yes of course. Apply a negative membrane on the inside of the wall. Is it ideal. No. Is it to code? Yes. Water will forever be in the blocks and the membrane will be holding back the pressure. Working with and educating builders on your process is critical. Theres a lesson here for every trade.
24.01.2022 From... Holy shirt Batman, we cut out too much wall!!! To.. Hey StopGaps can you stop this gap? Sure can dawg...let me at it. @bengadesigns #sorecut #sawcut #concreterepair #epoxyresin @ Benga Designs
24.01.2022 I love using the new Gripset 38FC membrane in wet areas. It just feels right and you know itll stand the test of time. Do it once. Do it right. Sealed for good. @gripset_industries @adhesealhq @seanc20111 @phil_scar #waterproofingexperts #waterproofingbrisbane #waterproofingqld @ Ashgrove, Queensland
20.01.2022 Prep and detail is where its at!!Waterproofing planter boxes is something you dont want to take for granted. Theres nothing worse than bad prep and using inferior products to waterproof them because they are unseen and deemed not to return any value. When they tend to fail, in corners and junctions they look terrible from the outside with gypsum and efflorescence running down the walls and not only looking unsightly, but also leading to concrete cancer and spalling. With ...any external area we always scrape, sweep and vacuum all of the areas and then as you can see in these photos, tape our chosen area to give a clean finish and then always use a 2 part epoxy primer to make sure our following 2 coats or membrane will adhere correctly. A lot of time prepping and detailing will allow for easier application and result in a job that lasts and doesnt fail. #doitoncedoitright @solido_builders @sykesartisanbuilders @shaunlockyer @ New Farm, Queensland See more
20.01.2022 Good morning Brisbane. Another beautiful day in the river city. Make it your best day ever! Youve got this!
20.01.2022 Joint Sealing rejuvenation project for the Brisbane Powerhouse.
19.01.2022 Before and after pics of our big grind and seal job last week in Kalinga. We started with a brushed concrete driveway and carport and peeled back a few layers to expose the beautiful aggregate hidden beneath. Once wed achieved a nice smooth finish we sealed with a clear epoxy glaze and hand seeded non slip glass throughout and finished with a UV stable topcoat of Tetrathane leaving this car port and driveway stain resistant, non slip and easy to clean for years to come. Really happy with the way its turned out. #epoxyfloor @ Kalinga
19.01.2022 Side project distractions... Finished up a chopping board and platter today which I've been working on in the background. Camphor Laurel timber from @naturaledgetimber and clear epoxy from @allpurposecoatings with a hint of turquoise. @ Kalinga, Brisbane
17.01.2022 Back to our roots today. StopGaps started off back in 2008 as a joint sealing company. I wanted to bring a professionalism to an industry plagued by cowboys. Over the years Ive worked with some amazingly talented guys and some not as gifted. We now are lucky enough to work with who we want to. Its a choice. This brings me back to our roots of joint sealing. Seeing a clients reaction to our work makes it all worth it. Joint sealing tightens a room up. It brings the walls and floors together. Our unwritten motto is this. "we dont want you to see our work" This means, matching colours, creating sharp edges and tight corners. Bringing the house, seamlessly together. This pic is an example of our job today....
16.01.2022 Retaining walls seem the flavour of the day. Another one knocked over yesterday. @ Auchenflower, Queensland

15.01.2022 Another day, another happy client. This bathroom reno was last done in 1988. With some beautiful white porcelain wall tiles and a feature floor tile chosen, these clients will have created a perfect sanctuary bathroom. Who else has shower niche envy? At 2000mm wide this niche would be one of the largest we have waterproofed. Cant wait to see it finished. @ Carseldine
15.01.2022 Always a pleasure working with the highly efficient team @bespokeconstructions yesterday. How cool is this suspended pool? @ St Lucia
14.01.2022 Double niche with backlit low voltage LEDs (soft light) in this bathroom which is about to get waterproofed. What are your thoughts on the double niche ?(950mm x 400mm)

08.01.2022 Puzzles....every job is different and this one was no exception. Renovations more often then not bring some challenges. The pipework here was in the bedding and so we had to allow for this with our waterproofing. Here we used our 2 part cementitious product Gripset 2P, a 2 part latex based cementitious product that has a variety of different applications right from wet areas to podiums or balconies and is fast curing. Allowing for tiling after 24hours of drying time. Best of all., it has no VOCs and is odour free. A great product to apply. @ Paddington
07.01.2022 Heres a little love job were doing at the moment. The area will have a fireplace in the centre and 2 slabs of Tassie oak either side. This greenstone flake is the closest youll get to polished concrete without polishing concrete... stay tuned tomorrow for the finished result. Like the look? Call us today! @ Carseldine
05.01.2022 So close... and yet so far away. Big silicone job today and everything went smoothly until on our final mirror we ended up 200mm short of silicone. Oh well. Back again tomorrow. . What have you miscalculated lately? Comment below...
05.01.2022 Pond sealing? How do you seal or plug a penetration in a pond over a carpark at a very prestigious address in the city centre? Easily done. We seal the underside of the penetration (in this case, a light fitting plus cable through a 20mm hole through the entire 400mm slab) seal the base with a Waterstop like @gripset_industries C-Plug which cures almost instantly and then fill the entire penetration with a clear epoxy to saturation as per the photo. Allow to sure for 24hours and fill the pond. Job done. Watch this space for more tips on how to stop water ingress. @ Riverside Brisbane
05.01.2022 Double life.... A lot of you may not know this but I teach yoga as well as fill gaps, waterproof and do epoxy floors. Ive been teaching for a few years now. Why? Because I enjoy it and teaches me focus, balance and strength. It also helps prevent injury for my surfing, running and mtn biking but without a doubt helps me stay strong for everything I do whilst on the tools. So often I hear tradies tell me about how their backs are buggered or knees are blown. Yoga has helped me avoid injury through keeping supple and agile. Whats your double life? Comment below..... @ Yoga Everyday - Yoga Studio Stafford

03.01.2022 Coving Saturday! Installing epoxy mortar coving at the wall and floor junctions in commercial food spaces adds to the cleanliness of that space by allowing easy cleaning and by installing a cove where the 90deg wall and floor junction meet, eliminates and dirt build up in the corner. @ Flagstone Estate, Jimboomba
03.01.2022 A quick bathroom update for this lovely client up in Peachester today who is renovating her own place. What an awesome little project to work on.
