24.01.2022 BRAD HAZZARD KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT DUGALD SAUNDERS’ CLAIMS THAT AMBULANCES COULD USE RIVER ST TO ENTER DUBBO BASE HOSPITAL IN A FLOOD. When asked about the Dubbo MP's claims today, Mr Hazzard said that he had never heard of the River St Bridge. Nor had he heard of any plans in the hospital renovation to facilitate access for ambulances from the rear entrance. The new A&E was constructed adjacent to the front entrance on Myall St. Did Dugald not discuss it with Mr Hazzard becaus...e the idea is so stupid? Was his fake claim just a ploy to convince some people that there might actually be one benefit to his silly bridge? River St itself is in the flood plain, so depending upon the size of the flood, there is no guarantee that ambulances would even reach the rear entrance. Dugald's other fake benefit, i.e. that the River St Bridge could assist hospital staff to get to work via the rear entrance was also exposed today. The entrances to the new car park(s) will be at the front of the hospital, with no access from River St. So we were right, THE RIVER ST BRIDGE ACTUALLY DELIVERS NO BENEFITS WHATSOEVER! We encourage members of the public to drive the route for themselves. You will find a one way system sending you at one point down to the back fence, a 10km/h speed limit and driving through the car park whilst vehicles are parking and reversing out etc.

They are disturbed that the government is telling people that trucks and highway traffic wouldn't use a Dubbo bypass as an excuse for not building one. Primary producers and rural transporters explained to David the urgent need for a Dubbo ring road and to cancel the River St Bridge. 20.01.2022 SAUNDERS & THE RMS HAVE WITHELD INFORMATION FROM COUNCIL & THE PUBLIC FOR A LONG TIME BUT CLAIM IN THE MEDIA THAT THEY WORKING WITH THE COUNCIL. Saunders persists in claiming that the River St Bridge would address critical local traffic needs at time of flood when EVERYBODY KNOWS that the bridge's approach roads are under water, requiring 'flood detours' that are also under water or create more congestion on Whylandra & Victoria Streets and the grid-locked intersection servin...g the LH Ford Bridge. Hopefully Saunders will not be able to hide behind lies and misinformation much longer. 11.01.2022 BYPASS WOULD SAVE LIVES. RIVER ST BRIDGE WOULD KILL! Ground breaking research commissioned by the Stop the River St Bridge Coalition showed that when towns & cities get bypasses, the number of crashes, injuries and fatalities in those cities decreases substantially. The pic is John Morris' bypass route option. There are also other options. Orange used to be far more dangerous but is now a very safe city to drive in since the Northern Distributor opened. By contrast, the crash... & casualty rate in Dubbo remains very high and is increasing on the Newell in particular, with Bourke & River Sts being one black spot. River St forcing more traffic through the centre of town and the most congested area of the Newell (Whylandra St) is recipe for more lives lost. Thompson & Whylandra in particular would become just one of the dangerous bottle-necks created. The RMS have now approved the Newell (including Whylandra St) for the carriage of oversized loads and roadtrains. That's a recipe for disaster. We need a bypass immediately, not a dangerous anti-bypass like the River St Bridge. Stay tuned for more highlights of the results of our road safety study. 03.01.2022 WORD OF HOW BAD THE RIVER ST BRIDGE WOULD BE IS GETTING AROUND - and so it should! The Newell Highway is a national highway spanning from Queensland to Victoria. The livelihoods of many trackies & transport companies, farmers, towns and cities rely upon it. The River St Bridge does nothing to flood proof the highway and will add several new intersections, pinch points and lots of congestion and more traffic accidents to it. Is that a good deal for $220M? MORE LIES FROM DUGALD... SAUNDERS In this article, if you don't have a subscription, Dugald Saunders claims that whenever he speaks to somebody about the [River St Bridge] project, they are in favour of it. He also tells us that if we hang on for about another 20-25 years, we will eventually get a bypass because that's when we'll actually need it! He also told 2DU that only 6 people turned up to the petition ceremony. 02.01.2022 NSW GOVERNMENT MAY BE FORCED TO COME CLEAN ON WHY THEY ARE RAMMING RIVER ST BRIDGE DOWN OUR THROATS All we've been getting from the NSW Government is spin, lies and stonewalling. Dugald Saunders arrogantly refuses to have a conversation with anyone, even Mayor Shields about the River St Bridge and letters to Paul Toole are never answered. The NSW Government just keep repeating "It's a done deal." "it's a done deal." Well we aren't going to just roll over and let you ruin our ...city with a silly bridge whose approach roads are flooded and which will create bottlenecked intersections of epic proportions. We have never been consulted about or allowed to vote on Troy Bridge Rd, which is a far superior location for a high level bridge. Even though John Barilaro suggested the NSW Government fund a scoping study to compare the benefits of Troy Bridge Rd versus River St at Dubbo's Bush Summit 2019, he changed his mind as soon as Saunders had a word in his ear. Mick Veitch MLC, Shadow Minister for Western NSW, Rural Affairs & Rural Roads put up a motion in the NSW Upper House (see pic for wording) and the MOTION PASSED!
