25.01.2022 Hi everyone! Long post ahead!! It is more important than ever to show our respect for each other's safety. ... Having witnessed people at hundreds of weddings, it is honestly impossible to get people to social distance. Naturally, everyone is excited for the happy couple and want to congratulate by hugging and kissing. People want to dance, it's not easy for a large number of people to dance at a 1.5-meter distance, think about last time you danced at a wedding (especially after a few wines!), part of the fun is all jumping around near each other, now imagine trying to do that at a distance...not that fun right and hard to control. I have heard of several instances of late where people have contracted COVID-19 from weddings, some guests didn't realise they were carrying it until other people were infected. If you are confused about the social distancing 'do's and don't's, please refer to the attached information from the World Health Organisation. I would love all of my couples to get married of course (also this is my income and I have a family to help support plus I would love for my business to continue for as long as possible!!), BUT my priority at the moment is to know that everyone is safe, that I am also safe and am not passing anything onto my family and you and your guests aren't passing anything onto theirs. My advise (from the heart and with all due respect), is if you are holding a wedding whilst social distancing is in place, postpone it to a later date when everyone can fully enjoy the celebration. This will mean not putting your guests and vendors at risk of exposure, a celebration where everyone can relax and you will still be getting married. No, it won't be on the originally planned date, nobody could've seen this coming, but you will still be marrying the love of your life, and you can have ALL of your guests there rather than have to ask some not to come. The rules are changing every day, if you plan for a future date now it will also avoid more disappointment. We are all in this together...from a safe distance for the time being ;) Dea xx
