23.01.2022 Thursday 10 December Juniors will be starting their grading at 5pm sharp. Please be there around 15 minutes early, to enable us to start on time as we are limited. ... Ensure you all sign in at the entrance. All students grading, please make sure you have your safety equipment ready, bring a towel and water bottle. All students not grading please attend to assist those who are. Any seniors who are available would be appreciated to help with marking grading sheets. This is our last class for the year also. Let's finish the year on a high note.

22.01.2022 Always do what you love, I am grateful that I can still be so involved with the sport I love. I may not be able to fight any more, but I can still share my passion by training others and also luckily in the capacity as a Judge and Referee. The sport has come along in leaps and bounds since I first started training, some 30 years ago. There wasn't too many other females involved then, and finding an opponent was easier said than done. But I preserved and to see so many involved now is such a blessing.

There was one special belt presented today, from father to daughter, with Alan giving his old Green belt to Evie. Thanks to all who helped again, couldn't do it without you all.

14.01.2022 The Chief was promoted to 10th Degree last night. What an achievement for one of the most inspirational and influential men in Martial Arts not only in Australia but also the world. BJMA has grown and expanded across the board and will continue to raise the bar in the world of Martial Arts. I am grateful for the many times I've had the pleasure of the Chief's presence, for his time and mentoring at the many Senjo's and training camps I've attended over the years. 13.01.2022 What an amazing weekend was had, as we held our first ever training camp. It was somewhat a last minute decision with quite a challenging year that we've had. We decided that we would make it our end of year presentations and break up, to end the year on a positive. It was great to see so many of our students and families attending as we only started the ball rolling about 2 months ago. We are grateful to have some members of Oceanic attending including Kyoshi Matt Reusch, Sensei Mick Vaughan & his daughter Kaitlyn, Dai Sempai Rob Edmonston and Kylan Coutts. We cannot thank all of enough for your time and effort you put into instructing all of the training sessions. I'm sure everyone will agree it was an outstanding success and we are sure to start planning for next year's.

13.01.2022 As an instructor I'm putting a great deal of my time into training my students, my focus will now have to change a little for the next 12 months. On the weekend I was promoted to Dai Renshi, probationary 5th degree, by Kyoshi Matt Reusch and also on behalf of Soke Jim Friis, with a view of completing my full 5th degree in December 2021. I am grateful and humbled for the opportunity to continue my journey through the ranks of Zen Do Kai.

06.01.2022 You have heard me talking about soft targets and how to avoid being a victim in class. I've spoken about what predators look for in their victim. This study covers that subject and the cues they look for, once equipped with that knowledge, we can then present ourselves as a lesser target. Well worth the read.
