25.01.2022 The Covid Crossing is a Macedon Ranges original - a heart warming and thought provoking mix of stories, local interviews, conversations, wellbeing and equality ideas. It has received some lovely reviews like this one: ‘I love the way Kate can draw out such wonderful information from people about their interesting lives, and share other bits and pieces like book reviews and poems. Really enjoy these podcasts on my morning walks.’ Thanks to a grant from the Shire, Season 2 is in the planning stages now. In the meantime you can catch up on the 12 episodes of Season One wherever you get your podcasts. https://storyground.com.au/the-covid-crossing

20.01.2022 Imagine spending two days really starting to understand story, and how you can craft your experiences to connect, captivate and convince? Imagine playing with language, leaning into metaphor, using your imagination and feeling into the emotional heart of stories, yours and others? Imagine exploring a bag of tools to enhance your way with words and your capacity to speak and share stories? Storied Speaking is a two day workshop running one more time in 2020: 9.30am - 4.30pm ...Wednesdays 18 November and 2 December. Online via zoom https://storyground.com.au/storied-speaking
19.01.2022 Last chance to participate in Storied Speaking a two day story crafting workshop starting this Wednesday 18 November, and again on Wednesday 2 December. Here is what Judit, a participant in October, had to say: "I thoroughly enjoyed Kate’s storytelling workshop and would highly recommend this to others. Kate gave us tips and techniques to structure and tell stories in both personal and professional contexts and created a safe space to apply our new skills. I valued this oppor...tunity to improve not only my communication skills but my ability to listen to others and embed story habits in my day to promote greater self-reflection and awareness. The experience was deeply moving, speaking to both the power of storytelling to make sense of our place in the world and connect with others, but also to Kate’s expert facilitation. Thank you for an amazing workshop." http://ow.ly/rC7R50CaXGn
18.01.2022 Linc Yow Yeh, Mt Macedon resident and Murri man, is our interview guest this episode, and we have a rich and wide ranging conversation. Then we hear a story by the beloved and late Gene Roberts, told in Woodend a few years ago. In Dancing with Democracy we take a look at layers, hierarchies and bureaucracies of government and finally we get some great advice on how to introduce and improve a volunteer program. https://storyground.com.au/the-covid-crossing

09.01.2022 "It is quite the journey to become a confident, skilled and inspiring storyteller. There are many steps and missteps along the way, and just like any development journey, there is no real 'arrival'. " From the latest Story Ground blog post.
09.01.2022 The final episode of the Covid Crossing is a two-parter. The first part features two interviews, one with Pat from an aged care facility in Woodend, and another with Bernadette who has an adult child with a disability. In the second part we hear a story by local writer Stephen Mitchell, a poem by Henry Lawson and the story of Annie Hutcheson who emigrated from Scotland in 1852. https://storyground.com.au/the-covid-crossing
08.01.2022 The Covid Crossing is out, for a second season. The first of episode is published, and it was so big it was split into two parts. We kick off with an interview with Woodend resident and central vic volunteer coordinator, Lisa Richards. Then we look at growth and fixed mindsets, followed by a new segment where we explore stories from the history of the Macedon Ranges. In part two we hear a couple of local writers reading from their locally set work, we begin to question our d...emocratic process, and we hear some ribbiting sounds from local frogs! Listen wherever you get your podcasts. https://storyground.com.au/the-covid-crossing

04.01.2022 Recently, and not for the first time, male subscribers to my enews mourned the fact that I don’t offer storytelling for men. And so, in this time of online happenings, I have acknowledged the whisper and started an online, monthly men’s storytelling event. Story Wise Men is a place for men to speak their stories, emotions and all; to be heard and bear witness, be moved and connected, make meaning and laugh. It happens on the first Tuesday of the month, 7.30pm - 9.30pm. Storytellers and listeners welcome in equal measure. The theme for October is Generosity. https://storyground.com.au/story-wise-men
