They chronicled their existence by spray painting the walls of the caves where they slept while on the hunt.... In the Cave of Hands, the artists used their left hands as stencils. 22.01.2022 MORNING GLORY. Spring Morning by Yokoyama Taikan c.1939. So much to admire in this modern masterpiece of Japanese art.... Ive rendered this in thin pine, 18cm wide. And its on sale for only $12.95 at the London Court shop in Perth city and Bitches Brew Custom Picture Framers in Fremantle. Theres also a larger (40cm) piece on thicker wood going for $80 to anyone who mentions this post. Better be quick.

20.01.2022 ONE DOOR CLOSES ... Story Horse is very sorry for the late notice but, as some of you may have seen, he has moved out of his London Court stables. As beautiful as they were, they were getting a bit cramped as the business grew and he has secured bigger and brighter digs up the road in Plaza Arcade. They are just 200 metres in a straight line from the old shop on the other side of Hay St Mall.... All will be revealed soon, but he is looking to open his new shop there in two-three weeks. 18.01.2022 Johannes Vermeer did some eyeball pleasers and Banksy is keeping them fresh today. He/she sprayed this over two storeys at the rear of a Bristol townhouse. The earring is a large security alarm. Genius. Now Story Horse has cropped it back, rendered it into raw birch with zero-emission inks then printed a baroque frame around it. It is 30cm wide, 40cm high and a centimetre thick. Birch is a hardwood with beautifully patterned grain and the inks are UV cured. This piece will ou...tlive the lot of us. $99 in store only.

Millions face an uncertain and difficult future as they rebuild from the worst fires in recorded history. Towns and regions have been laid waste and its not over yet. But there is inspiration to be found from the millions of fellow Australians who have chipped in to help. Ten per cent of all Story Horse sales will go to Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery, from Monday, January 6 to Saturday January 11. Better than a handshake. 03.01.2022 This stunning woodblock print is called View of an Azalea Garden and Mt Fuji, by Kawase Hasui. Story Horse is champing at the bit to have a go at rendering this in timber himself. What do you think? Hasui is the Horse's favourite artist of the genre Ukiyo-e (Floating World) for his rich and vibrant use of colour. Also, from a printing perspective, he's used three core colours with strong, clean and crisp delineation in this piece. C M Y.
