25.01.2022 Congratulations to the HSC Class of 2020! As one of Western Sydney’s leading academically non-selective co-educational schools, this year’s results have been very encouraging for the 26 students who sat for the HSC. Results have been strong across the board with students in Ancient History, Music, Visual Arts and PDHPE performing particularly well.... Special congratulations to Olivia (Visual Arts) and Luke (Music 1) who both achieved Band 6 results and are on the HSC merit list. The remaining 45 Year 12 St Paul’s students will receive their International Baccalaureate Diploma results early next Year on Sunday, 3rd January, completing the full academic profile of the school’s graduating year of 2020.

25.01.2022 Congratulations to Luke (Year 12) who can add a nomination for ENCORE to his growing list of achievements! ENCORE is a programme of outstanding performances and compositions by students from the HSC Music examinations. Students usually present their compositions and/or performances at the Sydney Opera House. ... This closely follows Luke’s HSC Drama 'OnSTAGE' nomination for his heartfelt and moving performance of Basketball Diaries. St Paul’s wishes Luke all the best with these two exciting nominations!

25.01.2022 Vivid St Paul's! Our bright sparks in Year 9 Science have been busy today using light boxes and triangular prisms to split white light, creating colourful light displays across the lab. They also used the same ray boxes to determine what colours can be created when primary colours or light are mixed.

25.01.2022 Congratulations to Luke (Year 12) for his HSC Drama 'OnSTAGE' nomination! OnSTAGE is an exhibition of group and individual performances by HSC Drama students who have been deemed as exemplary by NESA. Luke’s nomination is for his heartfelt and moving performance of Basketball Diaries.

25.01.2022 2020 has brought lots of changes to our school year, however, we are so excited that Sojourn and Ovations are able to still go ahead in a dynamic and innovative way! It is a hub of excitement today in The Centre and VAPA (Theatre and Dance spaces), with a professional lighting and film crew. Our Green Room (PA3) and Rehearsal space (The Centre) are alive with anticipation and nervous excitement. This year, our showcases are being professionally filmed at school and created into DVD’s for families to purchase and enjoy. The Junior School students started off the great day, with Secondary School filming this afternoon and tomorrow.

24.01.2022 Remembrance Day in the St Paul's Junior School. #LestWeForget

23.01.2022 Filming for ‘Benedictus’ continues in various settings around the St Paul's campus and local iconic locations such as Lincoln’s Rock in Wentworth Falls and St Finbar’s Church in Glenbrook. Thomas (Year 12) was recorded playing the beautiful pipe organ in the Church, which was made in 1881 to the order of St Peter's Anglican Parish, East Sydney. It was bought by St Finbar’s in 1993. Thank you very much to the parish of St Finbar’s and also to Blue Mountains City Council for their support of the St Paul's ‘Benedictus’ Project.

21.01.2022 Year 3 have had the most fantastic time at Galston. The last two days have seen them experience bushwalking, BMX bikes, obstacle courses, team work games, bible study groups, not to mention what it’s like to live with 34 of their peers in one big family! They have learned about caring for themselves, their belongings, their environment, and each other. Today they will be doing archery and making damper before heading home this afternoon.

21.01.2022 Staff and students celebrated with Year 12 today as they came to the end of their formal time at St Paul's. We hope the colourful send-off was one more amazing memory they can add from their time at the school - a school that will be very different without them!

21.01.2022 Year 6 have had a great time abseiling, playing games and learning about servant leadership during their time away on the Year 6 Camp!

21.01.2022 It wasn't only the weather heating up today as our three touch football teams were in action at Macquarie University. Our Junior B team finished the ISA metro season with another win, demonstrating significant skill development over the season. Our Senior Div 3 team were unfortunate in losing their grand final 3-1 to Oakhill College. The girls led for most of the match but unfortunately couldn't hold on facing heat, fatigue and ultimately a well-drilled opposition. Congratu...lations on a great season. Our Junior A's were playing their Grand Final vs St Spyridon. The weather was nudging 37 degrees as the girls took the field. They played an exceptional game in the conditions, coming from behind late in the game to finish victorious 6-5 in a very close game, where no team was able to get more than 2 tries in front at any stage. As such the girls are the ISA Metro Junior Division A champions for 2020. A fantastic achievement for the team and their coaches. A new season starts in Term 1, 2021 and we are always keen to welcome new players into our teams.

20.01.2022 It’s no exaggeration when we say that our school community worked shoulder-to-shoulder with staff to build St Paul’s. The strength that comes from working together as a community to provide an environment where students can thrive has infused St Paul’s from our earliest days. Take a look back at the mud-brick construction process for our unique Secondary School Administration building courtesy of Bricks and Mortar. Recognise anyone?

20.01.2022 Year 6 are finishing their inquiry into government systems by running their own village, called 'Mo-Sco'. The students have done their banking, learnt their community rules and are at the final stages of running a successful business!

20.01.2022 Perfect weather for the start of the Year 8 Student vs Wild Camp. Students have been doing a variety of outdoor activities including a hike, canoeing and abseiling. They even got to meet some of the local wildlife!

19.01.2022 Today is the last day of Year 10 Recreational Sports. The Boot Camp students have put in a great effort, pushing themselves hard and enjoying the challenge. Well done!

19.01.2022 St Paul’s Year 11 IB Environmental Systems and Societies, together with IB and HSC Biology students, had an enjoyable and informative time last Friday on their excursion to Balmoral Bay!

18.01.2022 The first day of Year 11’s Geography Excursion was enjoyable, informative and a real eye opener for students as they considered and saw first-hand some of the issues of coastal management around the Byron Bay area. Students listened to Chloe from Byron Shire Council talk about some of these issues, saw the significant erosion on Byron’s Main Beach and witnessed the excavators actively securing the dune. They then collected data on Belongil Beach, Main Beach, Clarke's Beach, The Pass, Watego's, Byron Bay Lighthouse and Tallow Beach which they then discussed as a group in the evening.

18.01.2022 The St Paul's RFS Cadets had a great time and developed their skills over the course of the NSW RFS State Championships. They managed to make their way through the qualifying rounds and competed remotely against the five best junior teams in the state, from as far away as Narrabri in the North West Slopes region of NSW to Thurgoona on the NSW/VIC border. The team performed with great humility and skill. This was rewarded with 1st place in an event that focused on speed and ...accuracy. This year wasn't to be for our Cadets, missing out on a podium finish - just one point away from 3rd place and only two points off 2nd place. The good news is that half of the team will still be eligible for the championships in two years' time and they are hungry to improve! Congratulations go to our fellow Cumberland zone brigade, Mamre Cadets, who finished in 2nd place overall.

18.01.2022 Ovations 2020 // Year 9’s performances of scenes from ‘Away’ tackle themes of loss, love, sacrifice, the Vietnam war and grief with maturity and insight. Congratulations Year 9, excellent work!

17.01.2022 PRAYER FOR IB STUDENTS // Today, we pray for our Year 12 IB students as they begin their IB Examinations. Lord, we ask that our students feel your presence during the IB exam period. We pray that you give them calm nerves and quiet confidence in the knowledge that you hold them in the palm of your hand. Bless them with keen understanding, retentive memories and the ability to grasp questions correctly. We pray that you will send them your gifts of wisdom and knowledge. We also uphold our HSC students, as their examinations continue. We ask these things through Christ Our Lord. Amen

17.01.2022 Today, our 2020 IB Diploma students received their results from a year unlike any other. Our strong IB results complement the success of the graduating HSC Class of 2020 with 31% of our 2020 Year 12 cohort achieving ATARs above 90 and 45% above 80. I would especially like to congratulate our 2020 Dux, Sophie Reeves, who achieved an IB score of 43 (ATAR 99.55)! ... These excellent results are particularly pleasing for Year 12 given the unexpected challenges and disruptions of 2020 and are testament to the determination, resilience and talent of this outstanding group of students. This success obviously does not occur in a vacuum and I would also like to once again acknowledge the staff, parents and supporters of Year 12 who have been dedicated to teaching and guiding students throughout such a tumultuous year. I hope everyone has enjoyed a relaxing Christmas and New Year break and I look forward to sharing more details about these results soon as we head into a very exciting 2021! Ian Wake, Principal, St Paul’s Grammar School

17.01.2022 This morning we celebrated the Graduation of Year 12, 2020. Congratulations to this remarkable group of students, their families and supporters! It was uplifting to welcome so many parents from our community back onto campus for this milestone event. We hope you enjoyed it.

16.01.2022 Yesterday, Year 12 dance students had their final practical class together for 2020. Each year students request a different style of dance as a fun way to finish the course - this year it was Bob Fosse’s A rich man’s frug. Mrs Cullimore and Mrs Bennett want to congratulate the dance students for all their hard work this year and wish them all the best for the next exciting chapter of their lives!

16.01.2022 As part of the St Paul's Music Academy Ensembles programme, the 7-12 String Ensemble and the 3-6 ‘Fretless’ String Ensemble participated in visual and audio recordings yesterday to refine their performance skills and experience a recording session. The recordings will also be available to view in the near future. Thank you to Ms Webb, who conducts the ensembles, for preparing the students so superbly. ... Thanks also to Mr Freeland (St Paul's AV Technician) and his assistant Jamie (Year 10) for creating the recordings.

16.01.2022 The St Paul's RFS cadets are at the Covid Safe NSW State Championships today at The Oaks. They’ve competed well and have had some great provisional results. Looking good for a strong finish!

16.01.2022 One of the many benefits of being a school that delivers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) is the Year 6 Exhibition. This year we are especially proud of our Year 6 students who did an outstanding job presenting their Exhibition in an all-new virtual format! Web-pages were designed so the audience could see the whole Exhibition process as students developed their work through the school’s Inquiry Cycle. This year the theme was:... Who we are An inquiry into the nature of the self; beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communities, and cultures; rights and responsibilities; what it means to be human. Students formed groups based on their interests. Each group developed their very own central idea to inquire into, including: Physical Health; Health in General; Relationships; Self; Rights and Responsibilities; and Mental Health. The students also participated in Zoom meetings with fellow Year 6 students at Newington College. This was very useful to the students as they were able to share their ideas and web page designs with students who were also partaking in the same process. Congratulations once again to all our Year 6 students for all their hard work, culminating in a stunning exhibition!

15.01.2022 Characters from your favourite children’s stories leapt off the page this morning and turned up at St Paul’s for our annual Junior School Book Week Parade! This is a very special event for everyone in the Junior School providing a great opportunity to celebrate children’s literature, our students’ reading and their boundless creativity and enthusiasm (and that of our amazing Junior School staff). Thank you to all the parents and families who put so much effort into the huge variety of costumes that were on display today!

15.01.2022 Year 5 are currently undertaking a Unit of Inquiry on How the World Works. Their Central Idea is ‘Energy can be transformed and used for human purposes’ and to help them explore this idea, they’ve had two exciting incursions run by Fizzics Education! On Monday students looked at electrical circuits and how we can use electricity to power simple electronics such as light bulbs and fans. On Wednesday, they explored the different forces at play when we use everyday toys and objects. Students really enjoyed these incursions as they considered how energy is transferred and transformed for different purposes.

15.01.2022 Term 4 at St Paul’s promises to be a busy one! As the school calendar begins to fill back up the best way to keep track of it all (and a whole lot more) is with the my.stpauls mobile app. If you’re a school parent and haven’t grabbed the app already, head over to the Apple App Store or Google Play and download it now!

11.01.2022 St Paul’s wishes all the families that are part of our vibrant school community a very Happy New Year! We’re looking forward to all the opportunities in store for 2021!

11.01.2022 Last night, at their Valedictory Dinner, the Class of 2020 celebrated the end of their formal journey at St Paul’s Grammar School. Joined by proud parents, school staff (and some surprisingly musical waiters) it was a fitting and well-deserved conclusion to their time at St Paul’s and provided a wonderful end to a rollercoaster of a year. They leave St Paul’s as a remarkable group of people - resilient, knowledgeable, caring and compassionate with a determination that’s inspiring. We can’t wait to see what they do next.

10.01.2022 Children in Kindergarten to Year 2 had a wonderful time playing outside recently. Here they are making ‘delicious treats’ for one another, taking turns and sharing as they play. We value and encourage the inquiry and learning that happens every day as our students play!

10.01.2022 Last term students in Years 5 and 6 had a great time learning to cook dumplings with Mrs Zhang. They practised reading and speaking Chinese and got to make their own dumplings which were reportedly delicious! Thank you to Mrs McLean who also came to help.

10.01.2022 In celebration of Year 12's last IB Environmental Systems and Societies lesson, students enjoyed iced coffees and iced chocolates from our wonderful school café. Ms Gardner has now taught and guided some of these amazing students across four years of Secondary School. God bless you all for the exams ahead.

09.01.2022 Yesterday, Year 4 took a first-hand look into how a motorbike engine, a tap and a door handle work as they explored the concepts of 'systems' and 'function'. They will apply this knowledge to their current Unit of Inquiry The human body has connected systems that work together to keep us healthy. Thank you to Mr Vale and Mr Rodriguez from the St Paul's Maintenance Team for providing these items and explaining how they work to our eager students!

09.01.2022 St Paul’s graduate Matilda has never been one to shy away from hard work, whether on the court or in the classroom. It’s no surprise she’s leaping from success to success with the GIANTS - all while finding ways to complete her intensive studies in Law and Psychology during such a disruptive period of time. We wish Matilda continued success with her studies and her flourishing Netball career!

09.01.2022 The great effort from our Cadets over the weekend at the NSW RFS State Championships offers a timely reminder of both the importance of the Cadet programme and of the impact bushfires have had on our community. With 2020's whirlwind of events offering little chance to reflect, it is good to recall the amazing efforts and perseverance from many in our local community during the 2019-2020 bushfire season and begin to prepare for the summer to come. Futurum Magazine touched on t...hese remarkable efforts and profiled our Cadet programme as the team looked ahead to a 2020 no one could have anticipated. https://bit.ly/2FqyvOV

05.01.2022 Last week, the foyer of the St Paul’s Visual and Performing Arts building was transformed as Year 12 students hung their HSC Visual Arts final Bodies of Work ‘Prepacked 2020’ The artworks the students have created this year are amazing and include oil painting, ceramic sculpture, digital drawing, digital photography and textile tapestry. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 the exhibition cannot be opened to the wider school community, but the students have enjoyed their teachers... and peers coming into the space to view their finished artworks. 01.01.2022 Recently, St Paul's Year 11 IB Biology students carried out individual experiments for their Internal Assessments, showing great depth of thought and professionalism.
