07.01.2022 As we continue to move from a system of education that teaches way too many things to all students, which in so many ways will not be applicable to all our stud...ents in the future, we will each week be highlighting a question we have been asked regarding Agile Learning. There are obviously some things which ALL students need to know, but ALL students do not need to know all the same things. Question: Why has St Pauls decided to implement Agile Learning in Agile Learning Spaces and not retain very traditional approaches to learning? Answer: Agile Learning at St Pauls reflects current research and knowledge of 21st Century teaching and learning practices. The St Pauls staff have spent the last 4 years visiting schools in Queensland and NSW, who have also begun to implement Agile Learning, along with keeping up to date with current research about rich student-centred learning, student-lead learning, how students learn best, differentiated learning and ultimately moving away from a one-size fits all approach. We are not either saying that traditional approaches to learning are completely wrong. What we are saying is that these traditional approaches to learning are not the most effective and relevant for the students we are currently teaching. Although we are unsure of the jobs which may exist in a rapidly changing future, what we do know is that there are a particular set of skills which are most important and needed to successfully enter and thrive in the future job market. Agile Learning supports a better and more regular growth of these skills. Next weekWhat are these skills?
