25.01.2022 Kindheartedness! A gift is marred when its giver seeks praise. The truly kindhearted person simply wants to give and has absolutely no interest in being congratulated for his efforts. His gift is pure, unalloyed by the dross of egoism. As far as the third condition is concerned, the now successful entertainer admits to "passing the kindness along to others," but secretly and anonymously, of course. +++ Long time ago a UCLA drama student performed a scene from Annie Get Your G...un at a bon voyage party for one of her professors. After the performance she was standing at the buffet when a man, whom she did not know, approached her, and told her how much he enjoyed her routine. He kindly asked her what she intended to do with the rest of her life. The young student, who was operating at that time on little more than hope and dreams, informed him that she hoped to go to New York some day and make a career for herself on stage. When he asked her what was stopping her, she explained that she barely had enough money to get back to Los Angeles, let alone to go to New York. In truth, she, as well as her sister, mother, and grandmother, had, at various times, been living on welfare. The man smiled and offered to loan her $3,000 to get her started. He insisted, however, on three conditions: First, if she met with success, she would repay the loan, without interest, in five years. Second, that she would never reveal his identity. Third, that she would one day "pass the kindness along to help some other person in similar circumstances." The stranger's kindheartedness was so striking that the young aspirant was convinced, as she put it, "that the good Lord was giving me a strong and unmistakable push." She accepted the money, went to New York, and became a success. Five years to the day, she paid her benefactor back. Nonetheless, the extraordinary kindness of this man, coupled with his expressed wish to remain anonymous, baffled her. Then one day, while looking for the Lord's Prayer in a recently published translation of the Bible, the following words from Matthew 6:2-4 seemed to leap off the page: So, whenever you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward. But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. Oh yes, the name of the successful artist is none other than star of stage, screen, and television-Miss Carol Burnett! +++ Stay Blessed! ><>

24.01.2022 What Are We Called To Do? You are the salt of the earthYou are the light of the world. Matthew 5:1314. Sometimes what a person contributes does not get noticed until they're no longer around to do it. +++ Once a husband came home from work to find his house in a complete mess:... - The baby was crying. - There were dishes piled up in the sink. - There was dirty laundry on the floor. - The TV was blaring. - The beds were not made. - The carpets were not vacuumed. - The dinner was not ready. Then he demanded to know what was up. He called his wife and asked her, What did you do whole day? To that she blurted out, You know how you always ask what I have been doing all day? Well, today I didn't do it. +++ The Bible says, ' Each one should retain the place in life to which God has called him ' (1Corinthians 7:17). This does not mean that we should not aspire to greater things. It just means that if we cannot start here where we are, we cannot start at all. One day Jesus healed a demon-possessed man who'd spent years separated from his family. After being set free, the man wanted to travel with Jesus. But Jesus said, ' No, go back home and tell them what the Lord has done for you ' (Luke 8:39). In other words, start where you are, use what you have got, and do what you can. The Bible says: 'You are the salt of the earth.' Salt does not exist for its own pleasure. It must be poured into something bigger than itself; only then does it fulfil its purpose. But be careful, do not be ego-driven. The quest for significance can be misleading. You cannot do it by yourself for yourself, you must do it with God and for His purposes; then God will bless you! 24.01.2022 Opportunity Comes to Pass, not to Pause! So, take the talent from him, and give it to the one with the ten talents. For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance; but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away. As for this worthless slave, throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 25:28-30. +++ Once upon a time a city dweller moved to the country and bought a farm... with a cow from a farmer who was his neighbor. In no time his cow went dry. When he told this to the neighboring farmer, the farmer was surprised as this cow had always given lots and lots of milk. The city man was surprised, too, and told the other farmer how considerate he had been of the cow. He said, "I never took more milk than I needed. If I only needed a quart, that's all I took. If I did not need any milk, I didn't milk her that day!" What the man didn't realize is that, to keep a cow producing milk, he needed to take what she had to give. +++ That is the kind of life we lead, isn't it? If we do not use the gifts we have, we may lose them. And if we do not take the opportunities for service, for growth, for spiritual enrichment while we have them, we may lose these opportunities too. As Jesus said, "As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. John 9:4. Have a Blessed Weekend! ><> See more

17.01.2022 Be a Man/Woman Of Your Word Hopes placed in mortals die with them; all the promise of their power comes to nothing. Proverbs 11:7. Keeping these things in mind can help us manage commitments more effectively, which helps us feel positive about our track record! Keeping our promises is good for others and good for us! +++ One cold night, a billionaire met an old poor man outside. He asked him, Don't you feel cold without wearing a coat?... The old man replied, I don't have a coat, but I am used to it. The billionaire said, I will enter my house now and bring you one. The poor man got so happy and said he would wait. The billionaire entered the house and got busy with something else, thereby forgetting about the poor man. When he later remembered him in the morning, he quickly went out to search for him. But unfortunately, he found him dead with a NOTE. The note reads: When I did not have any warm clothes, I had the power to fight the cold because I was used to it. But when you promised to help me, I got attached to your promise and that took my power of resistance. +++ Moral: Don't promise anything you cannot keep. It might not mean anything to you, but it could mean everything to someone else. Have a Blessed Weekend! ><> See more

17.01.2022 His mother said to the servants, Do whatever He tells you. ~ John 2:5 Let us follow Mama Mary's instruction - Do whatever the Lord tells us Happy birthday to our dear mother! God bless

16.01.2022 God, Why Don’t You Do Something? "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:16-18. Many times, in life, whether a thing is worth doing or not, really... depends on how you look at it. Take up all your courage and do something good your heart tells you to do so that you may not regret doing it later in your life. Just do it. +++ One day a young woman was walking home from work when she saw a sight of a little girl standing on the street corner, begging. The little girl’s clothes were paper thin and dirty, hair matted and unclean, and her cheeks red from the cold. The young woman dropped a few coins in the begging bowl, gave the girl a smile and walked on. As she walked, she started to feel guilty. How could she go home to her warm house with its full pantry and well supplied wardrobe while this little girl shivered on the street. The young woman also began to feel angry, angry with God. She let her feelings be known in a prayer of protest. God, how can you let these sorts of things happen? Why don’t you do something to help this girl? And then, to her surprise God answered. He said, I did do something. I created you. +++ We should never think it difficult when God asks us to do something. Most likely when God lays a burden on our heart, it will be to our benefit sooner or later. God will take the little that we have to offer and by our obedience in giving; He will give to us the desires of our heart. Have a Blessed Weekend! ><>

15.01.2022 Always Appreciate Little Things Matt 7:11, "And if you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father, who is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?" Do not spoil what you have, by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have, was once among the things you only hoped for. +++ ... A married lady was expecting a birthday gift from her husband. For many months she had admired a beautiful diamond ring in a showroom, and knowing her husband could afford it, she told him that was all she wanted. As her birthday approached, this lady awaited signs that her husband had purchased the diamond ring. Finally, on the morning of her birthday, her husband called her into his study room. Her husband told her how proud he was to have such a good wife and told her how much he loved her. He handed her a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, the wife opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the wife's name embossed in gold. Angrily, she raised her voice to her husband and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible? and stormed out of the house, leaving her husband. Many years passed and the lady was very successful in business. She managed to settle for a more beautiful house and a wonderful family, but realized her ex-husband was very old, and thought perhaps she should go to visit him. She had not seen him for many years. But before she could decide to see him, she received a telegram telling her that her ex-husband had died and willed all of his possessions to her. She needed to come back immediately and take care of things. When she arrived at her ex-husband's house, sudden sadness and regret filled her heart. She began to search through her ex-husband's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as she had left it years before. With tears, she opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. Her ex-husband had carefully underlined the above verse, Matt 7:11. As she read those words, a tiny package dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a diamond ring, with her name engraved on it -- the same diamond ring which she saw at the showroom. On the tag was the date of her birth, and the words...'LUV U ALWAYS'... +++ How many times do we miss God's blessings, because they are not packaged as we expected? If your gift is not packaged the way you want it, it is because it is better packaged the way it is! ALWAYS APPRECIATE LITTLE THINGS; THEY USUALLY LEAD YOU TO BIGGER THINGS! "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart." Stay Blessed! ><> See more

14.01.2022 The Wise and The Foolish... Do you not know that in a race the runners all compete, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win it. Athletes exercise self-control in all things; they do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we, an imperishable one." 1 Corinthians 9:24-25. +++ One morning, a wealthy man sat in his balcony enjoying sunshine and his coffee when a little ant caught his eye which was going from one side to the other side of the balcony ...Continue reading

12.01.2022 Press For The Prize press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14. 5th September was the 23rd death anniversary of Mother Teresa, the Nobel Peace Prize Winner (1979). She practiced LOVE as a language that could be heard by the Deaf, seen by the Blind and felt even by the New-Born and the Mentally Retarded. Karl Menninger, an American psychiatrist said, "Love cures people both the ones who give it and t...he ones who receive it." +++ Mother Teresa was once living in a small house in Calcutta along with some orphans. One day it so happened that there was nothing for the children to eat. Mother Teresa did not know what to do. Mother Teresa called all the children and said, Come children today we have nothing to eat in the house. But if we pray to God, he will surely provide us. After ten minutes of prayer, Mother Teresa said to the children Come, now let us go and beg." So, they all went to beg. In her neighborhood, there was a shopkeeper who hated Mother Teresa. Mother went to him, stretched out her hand and said Please, give us something to eat. The person looked at Mother Teresa with anger and spat saliva on Mother Teresa's hand. Mother gently wiped the saliva to her sari and said, Thank you for what you have given for me. Will you give something to my children? The shopkeeper was shocked at the humility of Mother Teresa and asked pardon from Mother Teresa. From then onwards he regularly began helping the orphan children. +++ The Bible teaches, "Our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action....God is love and whoever lives in love lives in union with God and God lives in union with him." We may give without loving; but we cannot love without giving. Love is giving all we can. Love is like a smile - neither has any value unless given away. Sir Winston Churchill said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." Mother Teresa said, "It is not how much you do, but how much love you put into what you do that counts. We can take home so many lessons from Mother Teresa’s life, but the greatest of them is LOVE; so we too may press on toward the goal to win the Prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus. 12.01.2022 The Love of God... Romans 8:37-39, In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the LOVE OF GOD in CHRIST JESUS our LORD. +++ A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year olds: "What does love mean?" The answer...s given were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what they think: 1. "When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So, my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." 2. "Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French Fries without making them give you any of theirs." 3. "Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." 4. "If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate," (Wish we had a few millions of children like this one on our planet). 5. "Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it every day." 6. "Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." 7. "During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore." 8. "My mommy loves me more than anybody. You won't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." 9. "Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is more handsome than Brad Pitt." 10. "Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." And the final one -- Author and lecturer, Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbour was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When the child’s Mother asked what he had said to the neighbour, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry." +++ My dear sisters and brothers in Christ; when there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need. God’s love is like an ocean; you can see the beginning but not the end. God will never leave us nor forsake us; He is with us even till the end of age. Have a Blessed Weekend! ><> See more

11.01.2022 My Little Flock, Do Not Fear! "Don't be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32. +++ A story is told about a young woman, named Linda, who was in a terrible car accident. When the paramedics came upon the scene, they found her in shock due to a loss of blood from a severed right leg. She was pinned in the wreckage and it was some time before they could free her and treat her wounds.... All the while she remained conscious and alert. They were amazed at her calmness in view of the serious injuries she had sustained. Later one of the paramedics said to the media covering the story, "I guess the only thing that saved her life was the singing." Puzzled at this revelation, they asked him what she was singing. He replied, "What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear." +++ Linda had the courage, confidence and trust in herself, in the paramedics, and, most of all in Jesus Christ. He speaks to us saying: "Do not be afraid, little flock." These latter two words, "little flock," are words of endearment; words that reminded his disciples and us that we are his chosen people and he loves us. We are his own, we are his family-therefore, we can trust in him to the utmost to help us with our fears, to give them over to him, and remove them from us. In Psalm 91:14-15 the Lord promises us, Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. Stay Blessed! ><>

09.01.2022 Discontentment! "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you." Hebrews 13:5. Discontentment is one of the great plagues on the human mind. However, there is a remedy to discontentment. The remedy is: thankfulness. When we become thankful for what we do have, often that thankfulness will eclipse what we do not have. +++ It was spring.... But it was summer I wanted - The warm days, & the great outdoors. It was summer. But it was fall I wanted - The colorful leaves, & the cool, dry air. It was fall. But it was winter I wanted - The beautiful snow, & the joy of the holiday season It was winter. But it was spring I wanted - The warmth, & the blossoming of nature. I was a child. But it was adulthood I wanted - The freedom, & the respect. I was 20. But it was 30 I wanted - To be mature, & sophisticated. I was middle-aged. But it was 20 I wanted - The youth, & the free spirit. I was retired. But it was the middle-age I wanted - The bustling activities and action. Then my life was over, and I never got what I wanted. +++ Obviously, God wants us to be a happy, satisfied people. But when we get restless, jealous, or nostalgic for all those things we don't have, we become obsessed! But when we do go and buy that gadget or that perfume or the latest this or that, we really don't address the root of the problem. The problem is often due to focus. When we focus on what we DON'T have, we will never be satisfied. Focusing on what we have been blessed with leads us to pause and sigh and say, "Ah, life is good. I have everything I could ever want. God is taking care of me and all is well." "Content makes poor men rich; discontent makes rich men poor." So, count your blessings. Be thankful for what you have. And let's refuse to "wish longingly" for things to make us happy. Happiness is internal. When we focus on our deficiencies or on the things that make us so incomplete, then incomplete we will remain. 03.01.2022 Serving Others......With Humility! "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Philippians 2:3-4. +++ When I was young, my family served as missionaries to Mexico for 12 years. My father was the pastor of a small church and my mother, siblings and I served alongside him where needed. During our years there, I fondly remember an elder...ly woman named Freda. She was no taller than 5 ft and had a petite build. She, as most of the families in our church, came from low income households and had limited resources. Her husband was an alcoholic and did not attend church with her, but this did not discourage her from attending every service and bible study offered. She was also on the rotation of families who volunteered to help clean the church campus. She was always available and willing to serve with a positive attitude. There is something that comes to my mind when I think of her. She came to church on the bus every week, as she did not drive. There were many times I remember her carrying a five-gallon jug of purified drinking water with her. These jugs weighed approximately 43.8lbs (almost 20kgs), so not easy to carry. However, she would bring the water to make agua fresca (fruit water) to share with the church members. If she was not bringing water, then she was bringing food items to share. Later, she allowed my dad to give her rides to church and agreed to use the water my dad would purchase because we did not want her carrying it. This was the way she showed love to the people of the church, and she did it wholeheartedly. One day she passed away and I was deeply saddened to lose such an inspirational woman, but at the same time I rejoiced as I knew she would be rejoicing in the presence of God. Her example of faithfulness, serving with humility, and always putting others before herself was a great example for me and continues to influence the way I serve. +++ There may be times when we feel that our talents are not enough when it comes to serving God. However, if we are willing to serve, God will take what we have and use it for His glory. As Paul tells in Colossians 3:23 reminds us, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." When we learn to work generously and faithfully for the Lord, with a willing and loving heart in all we do, God will use that to have a great impact on those around us and reach others for His Kingdom. 03.01.2022 Nativity of Our Blessed Virgin Mary! HAPPY FEAST! The Blessed Virgin Mary, whose birthday we celebrate today, is a powerful intercessor for all of humanity, particularly through the prayer of the Rosary. Let us all take up the devotion of praying the Rosary and call upon our Immaculate Mother for her intercession for our souls and those of the whole world. This is a true story of a young boy of 8 years. +++ Billy had no religious upbringing whatsoever. His father hated even t...he word God to be mentioned. Between the age of 6 and 8 he experienced horrific sexual abuse from a man in his street. Billy narrates: This man said he would GET my older sister if I told anyone, and of course GET me also. With no one to turn to, I was trapped; in fear of my life I became withdrawn. One day I was walking up my street, it was a dead end street, when I spotted my abuser, I turned and ran back down the street toward the dead end which had a wall that led to a coffee factory. I climbed the wall, jumped into the factory and hid, my abuser came after me. "I know you are there." He said. I remember my mother telling me that if I was in any situation where you I was helpless, pray to the Blessed Virgin Mary and she will intercede to her Son, our Lord Jesus and will surely come to your aid. So, I asked for his help. Mother Mary please can you help me? If you help me, I will always thank you. I stayed there until dark then got home safely. Next day after school I was on my way home, I met my abuser’s mother. She told me, My son has been taken away today. What do you mean? I asked, Where is he? Oh it is a long story but he will never be seen here again, ever. Overnight my hell had stopped. I never saw him again. I do not know what happened to him. I chose to believe it was Mother Mary who interceded and Jesus, who helped me. I thanked Mother Mary and Jesus for helping me. It happened to me at 8 years old. Freedom is such a fantastic feeling. So, my journey begins and my personal relationship with Mother Mary and Jesus, as a Mother and brother who looks out for me. +++ The secret that makes the Rosary so effective is that the Rosary is both prayer and meditation. It is addressed to the Father, to the Blessed Virgin Mary and to the Holy Trinity and is a meditation centered on Christ. A family that prays together, stays together. 03.01.2022 Happy Father's Day Weekend Aussie Dads Fly For Jesus I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. - John 15:5-6 +++ Once there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons. They were peregrine falcons, the most beautiful birds he had ...ever seen. He gave the precious birds to his head falconer to be trained. Months passed, and one day the head falconer informed the king that though one of the falcons was flying majestically, soaring high in the sky, while the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had arrived. The king summoned healers and sorcerers from all the land to tend to the falcon, but no one could make the bird fly. He presented the task to the member of his court, but the next day, the king saw through the palace window that the bird had still not moved from its perch. Having tried everything else, the king thought to himself, Maybe I need someone more familiar with the countryside to understand the nature of this problem. So he cried out to his court, Go and get a farmer. If this time it does not fly we shall shoot it down. In the morning, the king was thrilled to see the falcon soaring high above the palace gardens. He said to his court, Bring me the doer of this miracle. The court quickly located the farmer, who came and stood before the king. The king asked him, How did you make the falcon fly? With his head bowed, the farmer said to the king, It was very easy, your highness. I simply cut the branch where the bird was sitting. +++ In life we are all made to fly we need to realize our incredible potential as human beings made in the image and likeness of God. But at times we sit on our branches, clinging to the things that are familiar to us viz. obscene movies, dramas, plays, books, drugs, alcoholism, etc. etc. Let us learn to destroy the branch and free ourselves by seriously giving God priority in our lives in personal prayer, reading the Word of God, being a witness for Christ and doing Our Father's will. What is the point of listening to 100s and 1000s of sermons, preaching and teachings, but still sitting on the branch and not willing to fly for Jesus? We have so much incredible potential on the inside. God has put gifts and talents in us that we probably don’t know anything about. Today, let's get out of our comfort zone and... He longed to see God face to face and prayed persistently without giving up for almost 25 years.... One morning during his prayers, God appeared and was standing right in front of him. Rajan was stunned but thrilled and happy at the same time. He said, Thank you Lord for coming and visiting me. And he thought after 25 years of waiting, now I will have the best time with the Lord. But suddenly there was a tap on his shoulder. He turned and saw another monk from the monastery. He said, Brother Rajan, today is your turn to give food to the poor who are waiting at the monastery door. He told God, I will be back in 10 to 15 minutes, do not go, please wait for me. Rajan hurriedly left to serve food to the poor. To his dismay, this day instead of the usual 50 people there were more than 150. It took him almost an hour to distribute the food. He was thinking God must have gone by now. No sooner he finished distribution, Rajan hurried to his prayer room and, ‘Lo and Behold’, to his surprise God was still there waiting from him.
