16.01.2022 The doors of the church might be closed, the good work of the Church continues. St Peters is partnering with Vinnies to distribute food packs to the disadvantaged in the Surry Hills area every weekday between 12-12.30pm. Many of the people coming are usually low on supplies such as milk and bread. We gladly welcome donations in this department!

03.01.2022 Join us in celebrating sung Vespers of the Triduum over the next three evenings. https://us04web.zoom.us/j/279441438 Pastors of souls should see to it that the chief hours, especially Vespers, are celebrated in common in church on Sundays and the more solemn feasts. And the laity, too, are encouraged to recite the divine office, either with the priests, or among themselves, or even individually (Sacrosanctum Concilium, 100)... In this ‘public prayer of the Church,’ the faithful (clergy, religious, and lay people) exercise the royal priesthood of the baptised (CCC 1174). As we begin today to commemorate the Sacred Paschal Triduum, it is hard to believe so many of us are prevented from celebrating the Mass of the Lord's Supper, the Solemn Commemoration of the Lord's Passion, and the Easter Vigil of the Resurrection. While many will avail themselves of livestreams, there is no substitute for physical participation in these liturgies. However, the laity may celebrate the Liturgy of the Hours on their own, and thereby truly join with the Church in her liturgical prayer. So join us at 5:30 pm over the next three evenings and celebrate the liturgy with solemnity from your home.
