24.01.2022 Welcome everyone to this reflection for the Fourth Sunday after Epiphany - Discovering the Holy Places. Jesus has an interaction in the synagogue in Capernaum, certainly a holy place. But perhaps there is an invitation in this account to see that our heart is the holy place where Christ can come. Peace be with you all.

23.01.2022 "Touch the Earth Lightly" is the perfect hymn (although imperfectly played) for reflecting further on David Attenborough's film "A Life on this Planet". I hope you find inspiration in this hymn and a sense of hope and motivation to do what we can, while we can for God's creation which we are a part of and live within. Peace to you all.

23.01.2022 Good morning and welcome to this midweek reflection. Today I'm sharing three poems by David Lander from his book Heaven's Backyard. They are guaranteed to put a smile on your face AND make you think. A bit like many of Jesus' parables - humour which packs a punch. Enjoy!

23.01.2022 A short midweek reflection to reflect on Psalm 139 - a lovely reminder that God's knows us thoroughly, loves us thoroughly and is always with us. Peace be with you everyone.

23.01.2022 Welcome to this midweek reflection when we reflect on both the Serenity prayer and also Jesus encouragement to us to "Take Heart!". What does it mean to "have the courage to change the things I can"? A simple Hebrew words, Chazaq can help us understand this a bit more.

22.01.2022 We can worship once again inside our church. Sunday will be the first Sunday of Advent too.

21.01.2022 Welcome to this reflection for the Eighteenth Sunday After Pentecost. The theme is "Words for Living" and we look at the Old Testament reading of the ten commandments and we wonder how we can see them in a positive way rather than simply as a list of "Thou Shalt Not's". There is a challenge and an invitation to the church to do as Jesus did to rephrase them and live them in positive ways - loving God and loving our neighbour.

20.01.2022 Sending our Shoeboxes of Love off to Operation Christmas Child this week. Thanks everyone for contributing once again. It was lovely to bless them in our 10am Service last Sunday.

19.01.2022 I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. Psalm 104:33 (NIV) #OpenTheBible

19.01.2022 Welcome to Glenelg Helen and Pete. We look forward to meeting you at one of our Sunday morning services.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone. In this midweek reflection, an encouragement to pause and notice God in the beauty around you. Particularly in the unusual things that perhaps we haven't noticed as beautiful before! Peace be with you.

16.01.2022 We've made it through day 1 of the lock down. I reflect upon Hebrews 12:1-3 and pray for the lock down. If you have any prayer requests share them in the comments. Stay safe, sane and at peace Glenelg.

15.01.2022 Welcome everyone to this reflection for the Third Sunday After Epiphany. Our theme is Leaving our Nets Behind and we will reflect on Jesus calling his disciples and his calling to us. We are also mindful of the Australia Day public holiday coming up and the many aspects associated with that day and so we offer prayers for that as well. Peace be with you all.

13.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Welcome to another midweek reflection. Today a reminder that if we are facing difficulty always remember to pray about it. Easily said, but easily forgotten when we get caught up in our anxiety. I hope you find this a helpful reflection. Blessings to you all.

12.01.2022 Come to the Banquet there's a place for you! That's the line of a song I'll be singing with the children and is on this video. Inspired by Jesus' parable of the Wedding Banquet - which is our Gospel reading from Matthew 22:1-10. The Gospel poses the question of how we respond to God's invitation to the celebration of the kingdom. Perhaps there will be some inspiration to note the little divine invitations that occur throughout our week.

10.01.2022 Good Morning everyone welcome to this reflection for the 21st Sunday after Pentecost. Today we reflection on the Old testament reading of Moses looking at the Promised land. After forty years of leading the Israelites he will not get to the promised land but passes the baton of leadership on to Joshua to complete that task. We also reflect on the beautiful story of the grain of rice. Peace be with you all.

09.01.2022 A prayer for any time.

08.01.2022 Michele reads the book "God is really Good" by Bill Johnson and Seth Dah. Illustrated by R.W. Lamont Hunt. The story is about sparrow who is worried about all of his friend's worries. The message of the story is that we don't need to worry, because God is good. Throughout the story he learns this and realises that God is looking after his friends and himself too.

08.01.2022 Today we went as a family to see David Attenborough's "A Life on this Planet" at the cinema. It's also streaming on Netflix. A truly prophetic insight into our responsibility as stewards of creation. It is a confronting, tragic, beautiful and hopeful work of witness. Quite simply, everyone should see this movie.

08.01.2022 Welcome to this Midweek Reflection where, inspired by John of the Cross and his Dark Night of the Soul we consider the presence of God within the troubles we face bringing the hope of light and the seed of something new that might grow. Blessings to you all.

08.01.2022 Just a reminder, the church and parish office is closed until at least Wednesday 25th November due to the state wide lockdown. 08.01.2022 Just so happens that this is the prayer of the week set by our prayerbook. Coincidence or God's incidence? Grace and Peace

07.01.2022 Having just got back from holidays, it strikes me that one of the best memories of the time away was the glorious sunsets we enjoyed. There are often beautiful sunsets I guess, but on holidays I have more time to stop and pause and enjoy them. Its a great reminder that the natural world around us has so much in it to inspire our awe and wonder every single day. Lord, help me pause more often and allow awe and wonder to permeate my soul and to offer my thankfulness to you in those moments of blessing. Amen.

07.01.2022 The latest advice from the Diocese in consultation with SA Health is that we can resume congregational singing again! With the proviso that social distancing should be at least 1.5 metres and ideally greater than 2metres if singing is involved. This is subject to change if there is any be community transmission Sing in church with us Sunday at our 8:45am, 10am and ukulele church services.

06.01.2022 Brian Wren's beautiful words "When Pain and Terror Strike by Chance" take us into a reflection on God's vulnerability in times of difficulty and the path the resurrection hope. As we pray fervently in South Australia regarding the current COVID outbreak as we have been praying for other states and other countries, we pray for God's comforting presence and hope to sustain us. Peace be with you all.

05.01.2022 Let your cup run over the rim! How do you shift from being an optimist/pessimist to letting things flow over the rim with abundance?

05.01.2022 Today, Michele reflects upon the Parable of the Talent in Matthew 25:14-30. Have you considered how a talent changed from a unit of money to a special gift, an attitude before?

05.01.2022 Register in advance for the 10am Sunday service please pre-register through EventBrtite and help us with our COVID Safe requirements.

05.01.2022 Good morning and welcome to this midweek reflection. Springtime in Adelaide cannot help remind us that "the world is charged with the Grandeur of God". Today I reflect on a couple poems by Gerard Manley Hopkins which always open new avenues for us to reflect on God's action in the world. Peace be with you all.

03.01.2022 Don't forget daylight savings starts early Sunday morning. Will you be early, late or on time?Don't forget daylight savings starts early Sunday morning. Will you be early, late or on time?

02.01.2022 Welcome everyone to this special online reflection for the feast of The Reign of Christ (Christ the King) - the final Sunday of the Liturgical Year. Today's reflection is a little longer than our regular Sunday reflections and is based around communion to make up for there being no church services this morning. With the lockdown finishing at Midnight Saturday there has not been time to re-organise everything after it has all been cancelled. This is disappointing for many but we look forward to reconvening for services again in the coming week. blessings to you all.

01.01.2022 Good morning and welcome to this Sunday Reflection for the Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost (slight error on the pew sheet) for 27th September. Today we are going to focus particularly on the passage from Philippians 2:1-11, which includes the beautiful Kenosis hymn. You may like to have a hymn book and pew sheet handy as you enjoy this reflection. Peace be with you.

01.01.2022 Here's another of our murals on display in the Community Centre. Thank you to all the colourers who participated. There are more pages by the parish office ready to be coloured too.

01.01.2022 Welcome to this Sunday Reflection for All Saints Day. Today filming from our War Memorial Chapel of St Michael which is 100 years old this year.
