25.01.2022 Feast Day of St Teresa of Jesus, 15th October. Born at Avila (Spain) in 1515, she left her aristocratic family for the Carmelite monastery in Avila at the age of twenty, but only after two decades felt an inner conversion to Christ. Honoured as a spiritual writer and mystic who experienced the life of prayer. Remembered as a strong, practical reformer who restored the strict Carmelite observance of poverty, solitude and austerity. She died in 1582.... "Let nothing trouble you, let nothing frighten you. All things are passing; God never changes. Patience obtains all things, He who possesses God lacks nothing. God alone suffices." ~St Teresa of Avila.

24.01.2022 My dear Parish family, 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us. My deepest sympathy and condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones due to COVID-19 or sickness or unexpected deaths. There are people among us who have not been able to catch-up with their family members, have been separated from their loved ones, have lost their jobs, have been diagnosed by serious illness, have had a tragedy in the family, have experienced painful experiences; my heart reach...es out to all of you during this special occasion. I would like to thank sincerely all our brave front line workers and those who have sacrificed or are continuing to sacrifice their lives to look after those who are suffering; you are all the Good Samaritans of our times! I would also like to acknowledge all our parish volunteers who stood by my side and have generously shared your time and talents for our parish. Without your support I wouldn’t have been able to do it alone. I would also like to thank all of you for your ongoing commitment and support to each member in the congregation who have kept your faith and have continued to be there during this challenging times. I am inspired by your perseverance and love for the Eucharist. For this years’ Christmas message, I draw inspiration from Joseph and Mary. Everything changed in their lives after the announcement from the angel of God. Their simple lives became complex and challenging. But they accepted with gentleness. It was possible for them because of their faith in God’s Word, not giving up on the Hope and accepting Jesus as part of their family. Let us have Faith in God, not give up on Hope, and hold on to Jesus always in our lives. This will help us overcome any challenges in our lives. I wish you all, a very Happy Christmas and a grace-filled New Year 2021! God Bless. Fr. Jeronimo Flamenco PP Saint Peter the Apostle Bedford/Inglewood WA

23.01.2022 With thanks to St Peter’s Primary School, The Bedford Conference of St Vincent de Paul & the St Peter’s community, once again this year we will be able to put smiles on faces of those less fortunate. Thank you to everyone for your generosity enabling us to make up many many hampers for distribution.

23.01.2022 Feast Day of St Matthew, 21st September. Matthew, also known as Levi, was a Jew who collected taxes for the Romans at Capernaum in Galilee. Here Jesus met him and called him to be an apostle. Venerated as the author of the gospel which highlights Jesus’ role as Messiah and underlines the presence of the kingdom of God in the Church. Let us pray:... We thank You, heavenly Father, for the witness of Your apostle and evangelist Matthew to the Gospel of Your Son, our Saviour and we pray that, after His example, we may with ready wills and hearts obey the calling of our Lord to follow Him; Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. See more

22.01.2022 Feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi

22.01.2022 This weekend, 87 children will be confirmed over three Masses. For some time we held our breaths hoping we would get a green light from the Archbishop to go ahead, so it’s especially exciting that permission was granted and we can give the opportunity to our children to take this final step in the Sacraments of Initiation into the church. We also have a handful of children who want to take the challenge to become active in different ministries we offer so look out for fresh new faces in the coming months. We hope you enjoy reading the saint posters and learning something new! For Fr Jeronimo, this weekend means he will be extremely busy celebrating extra Masses so we are very grateful for his endless energy to support our families.

22.01.2022 Feast day of St Ignatius of Antioch, 17th October. Born probably in Syria. Remembered for seven letters written on his way to execution. They show him to be devoted to Christ and his resurrection: they urge Christians to unity in and through the Eucharist and around their local Bishop. Called himself the ‘God-bearer’ and died about 107. "Let me be food for the wild beasts, for they are my way to God.... I am God's wheat and shall be ground by their teeth so that I may become Christ's pure bread." ~St Ignatius of Antioch See more

16.01.2022 Feast day of St Pius of Pietrelcina, 23rd September. Born in 1887 in Pietrelcina (Italy) and raised in a deeply religious rural home, Francesco Forgione became Padre Pio when he was ordained in the Capuchin order in 1910. A mystic who received the marks of the stigmata in 1918, a renowned holy man and a charity worker who founded a hospital, his ascetic life of pain led to special compassion for the suffering. He is remembered as an extraordinary confessor and spiritual director. He died in 1968. "Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God's heart" ~ Saint Padre Pio.

12.01.2022 A heart that remembers, is a heart that is grateful because Gratitude Is The Memory Of The Heart ( St Mary of the Cross Makilop). This is so true because what you do in our parish community, you do it from the heart and this is the most important. It does not matter what service you do in this community at St peter the Apostle, every single act that you perform is from your heart and I value it the most. In a humble way I would like to express to each one of you my deepest gr...atitude. Thank you to each one of you who participate in each ministry in our parish here at Bedford. I would like to mention each of you by name but I don't want to make any mistake to forget any of you. So, in general I say to you " Thank you" and may God bless you abundantly and fulfilled what your heart desires. You are beautiful people, who made me fell very welcome from the very moment I came to this community, and it has been a joy to me to be part of this wonderful Catholic community. This community has been for me not only a place I can call home where I have formed great friendships and a deep sense of belonging. It has been for me a place that I am able to see God is as such human level. I would like to finish my homily with St Mary Makilop's words: " Gratitude is in the memory of the heart, and John Vianey who said " God is everywhere ready to hear your prayers....remember He is here...." In the heart of love of Christ, Fr Jeronimo Flamenco PP St Peter the Apostle.

11.01.2022 Congratulations to all our children celebrated their First Reconciliation on Wednesday & Thursday.

11.01.2022 First Sunday of Advent; The candle of HOPE. Our HOPE is that we are prepared for the coming of Christ. We light the first candle, the candle of HOPE, to express our longing for peace, for healing and the well-being of all creation. Let us pray:... Loving God, as we begin our Advent journey, let us be guided by the light of Your word to open the darkness in our lives. Through hope let us be open in accepting Your love and healing power so that our lives and the world we live in are at the peace and freedom You grant us. Come Lord Jesus, we await Your coming. Amen. 11.01.2022 You may have read and heard about the following: Before reading please be assured that this does not mean that WA is in lockdown, it simply means that the WA Government and Health Department are trying to keep WA Safe and keeping its good record to date intact for everyone’s safety. Please do not feel overwhelmed, the leadership team of St Peters is available to assist our parishioners and ensure that the process is as painless as possible. Details of the new directives can ...be found at https://www.wa.gov.au//places-of-worship-operate-greater-c From Saturday, 5th December 2020, particular WA businesses and venues will be required to maintain a mandatory contact register for staff and patrons, this includes the PLACES OF WORSHIP AND FUNERAL PARLOURS. The reintroduction of contact registers is an additional protection measure and will assist with WA Department of Health contact tracing, should it be required. The contact register records must be kept for 28 days, and not used for any other purposes. To assist businesses and venues, the WA Government has developed the free, SafeWA app, an online contact register system that uses QR Codes for parishioners and staff to scan to register their attendance. SafeWA can be downloaded from Apple App Store or Google Play from today, more information can be found at https://www.wa.gov.au//covid-c/covid-19-coronavirus-safewa Alternative formats for mandatory contact registers are available, including paper-based system. Businesses must still maintain a written contact register for people who choose not to use the app. Failing to comply with the new requirements to maintain a contact register could result in fines and penalties of up to $50,000 for an individual and $250,000 for a body corporate or 12 months’ imprisonment. Together we can do this!

09.01.2022 My dear Parish family, As we farewell 2020, I express my deepest sympathy and condolences to all those affected by COVID-19 during the year, but also to wish one and all my sincere thanks and best wishes in helping me lead this Christian community with love, care and dedication, to bring into our life the presence of Jesus Christ who always invites us to love, and to serve with a sincere heart at St Peter’s church. It is a good time to reflect on what we have done during 2020..., how we will need to improve in 2021, as well as asking ourselves if 2020 helped us to improve our closeness with Jesus and with one another. Did you respect your family, wife, husband, children and each member of your family? Did you improve your tolerance to others at home? How were your actions during this year? What will be your plan for 2021? What will your resolutions be for this New Year? I encourage you to do at least 10 good things you have never done before. I wish you all a very Happy and grace-filled New Year 2021. God Bless. Fr. Jeronimo Flamenco PP Saint Peter the Apostle Bedford/Inglewood WA

05.01.2022 Third Sunday of Advent; the candle of JOY. Joy is like an underground spring that wells up within us. Like a muscle, it needs to be exercised. So today, we open ourselves to joy, trusting that God has already planted it in us. All we need to do is give it care and offer it to share. Let us pray:... Loving God, let us rejoice that you are with us in all that we do and say. Be our strength and guide, and fill us with hope and trust that you will one day lead us to the path of eternal joy and freedom. Come Lord Jesus , let us rejoice. Amen. See more

04.01.2022 Fourth Sunday of Advent; the candle of LOVE, God never fails on His promise. With this flame we signify the love of God that surrounds and fills us at all times. There is no greater power than love. It is stronger than rulers and empires, stronger than grief or despair, stronger even than death. We love, because God loves us. Let us pray:... Loving God, as we light these candles in this Advent season, help us to see the light you shine for us. Let your unfailing love be the source of inspiration for all we do this day and each day forward. We raise our voices with renewed courage and hope to face the challenges set before us. Come Lord Jesus, be our light. Amen. See more
