16.01.2022 Wakakirri is Australia’s Largest Performing Arts Festival for Schools. This year our Wakakirri students from Years 5 & 6 performed their story-dance in front of a camera instead of a live audience, but that didn’t stop them from being AMAZING! This year’s theme: Just the way you are - in celebration of what makes each of us unique Take a look at our entry and see why we are so proud of our performers ... https://youtu.be/tmLSmEdM0EY #stpatricksprimarysutherland #wakakirri (note: we’re aware that part of the video has unfortunately been muted by YouTube)

07.01.2022 This photo is of St Patrick's Catholic Church, Sutherland under construction around 1981. The site on Belmont Street, across the road from the original church, ...was set on the crest of a hill and was also one of the highest points in Sutherland. To take advantage of this, it was decided to build into, rather than on top of, the hill. Most of the work on the church was undertaken by volunteers and construction took two years. Part of Belmont Street was later closed to complete the church precinct. The unique "underground church" was officially opened on 12th December 1982. 07.01.2022 Today on All Saints' Day we commemorate not only Martyrs and Saints but all people of God, living and dead together with the mystical body of Christ. Year 3 students have remembered those who lived a life of holiness by creating portraits of Saints whose faith, courage and discipleship inspire them today. On Monday we commemorate All Souls' Day and remember all those who have died. Our Mini Vinnies have created a 'Tree of Remembrance' on the playground where the community is invited to place stones around the tree to pray for and remember our loved ones.

04.01.2022 Factors that Shape Places Excursion Last week, Year 5 went on an excursion to Garie Beach and Bola Creek in the Royal National Park where they met with Rangers Brad and Meg from Ranger Jamie Tours. They learned about bushfires, their affects and how nearby spaces are managed accordingly. The students got to survey various areas for evidence of wildlife, as well as go for a walk through the rainforest. Another wonderful experience provided by Ranger Jamie’s team.... #stpatricksprimarysutherland #rangerjamietours #geography
