16.01.2022 Today we had planned to do a double glazed ham but the weather has threatened us with power outages and we are not willing to risk it (you just can't mess around with something like that) so seafood for dinner it is. No surprise, then, that one of the questions we get asked a lot is where to find them. And one good spot to head is the grassed area across from the gelati shop at Point Lookout, with dawn and dusk among their favourite times of day. 06.01.2022 Going through our image vaults this week, we found this cool nature shot, which was left over from a story we did for Eat, Drink and Be Straddie (https://stradbrokeislandphotography.com/eat-drink-straddie/) on island beekeeping. Can't remember how many times we were stung, but it was definitely great to see just one of Straddie's local producers in action. And now we want to make toast and honey...

05.01.2022 If any day cries out for a great brunch recipe, it's Sunday. So we dived into Eat, Drink and Be Straddie (coming soon as an ebook!), and found one of our faves for you. Bon appetit! EGG-STUFFED AVOCADOS 4 ripe avocados... 4 rashers bacon, cooked 30g goat's cheese 8 eggs Salt and pepper, to taste 1. Preheat oven to 200C fan-forced. Seed and halve avocados. Scoop out flesh until hollows are large enough to fit other ingredients. 2. On a baking tray, arrange avocado halves on a baking sheet and fill with bacon and goat's cheese. Crack each egg into a small bowl, then spoon yolks and however much white you can fit into each hollow avocado. 3. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top. Gently place tray in oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes. Serve with a chilli sauce or relish. Enjoy! #EatDrinkBeStraddie #sundaybrunch #Straddie #NorthStradbrokeIsland #eggrecipes
