17.01.2022 When self maintenance goes wrong. In this case the sump plug/bolt was over torqued. I also asked if he replaced the sump washer for the last few "oil changes" the answer was "no". . 11.01.2022 Lets talk dealership or private workshops... . -If something goes wrong at the dealership workshop with your motorcycle you don't actually complain or have a go at the mechanic. You talk to the service manager at the "service desk", yes "service manager" the person who is unqualified to do the actual job on the tools. I've previously worked at a dealership before, and if the service manager can upsell the job, they get commission. -That mechanic who worked on your bike works ...9am to 5pm and probably complains about 5 day weeks and packs his bench and tools down at 4:30pm. *SPECIAL NOTE this doesn't apply to everyone. . Private Workshops. -If something goes wrong with your motorcycle, you speak to me. Jason Chhit, I am: the front of shop, the mechanic, the spare parts guy, the administration who handles your insurance claims, the tyre fitter, the detailer, the social media, and the accountant. I am also a husband, future father, someones son, someones brother and someone who takes pride in my work. So yeah I don't want that problem, so I'll always try to get it done right and once only. -Anytime you call, you speak to me. . . . Shit got sidetracked! This GSX-R1000 '13 is on 18,000kms and services are done every 6,000kms. And that air filter looks like its never been cleaned or replaced. 01.01.2022 Honda CBR1000 RR '2011 18K Service. This beauty in need of some attention asap. . Customer was doing his own servicing previously. The amount of small things I find during the service don't suprise me. At most times I think its pretty important for professionals to do the job. -Eng cover bolts loose creating oil leaks.... -Excessive throttle cable slack. -Not enough clutch cable slack. -Over torqued airbox screws. -Gear selector shaft play. -Incorrect chain tension & uneven chain adjusters. . The worst of them all is the bike has a poor Cam Chain Tensioner which now requires replacement which can sometimes be a costly replacement. Which could be a result of: -Poor oil quality. -Overfilled oil level. -Riding the bike constantly at a low RPM. -Block oil passage to tensioner. *All together this is a loss in power and delayed throttle response. .
