25.01.2022 Don’t be standard! narrow sites can be special too! Don’t just settle for a standard floor plan or facade because you have a standard block! ... Try experimenting with a mix of materials, articulation + some different details. @ Gledswood Hills

24.01.2022 F O U R weeks left for the year! The countdown is on! The studio will be closed from December 19th, returning January 23rd in the new year. I still have a few spaces left for new meetings in these last few weeks of 2019 so get in contact if you would like to book in - or even get in early with a spot for next year! I’ll be over in Chicago for Christmas, I cannot wait!!! Other than eating, drinking + snowball fights over there I’ll also be doing a little research on housing ...styles!! Lately there has been a massive shift in the styles of homes people are loving + a lot of inspiration of this can be seen in the American style of homes. 24.01.2022 T I P | Kitchen Island Bench Find somewhere else for the kitchen sink!! By placing the sink on a wall it helps to reduce noise of dishes in open plan spaces, gives an opportunity to have a big window above the sink for extra light ++ creates a huge, clear prep, entertaining, homework space for the entire family! @ Gledswood Hills

22.01.2022 M O D E R N F A R M H O U S E Inspired by my last trip to Chicago, this design combines all the elements of the American style Farmhouse exterior with the best bits of Australian style of living - open plan living spaces, natural light and lots of windows to connect inside + outdoor space! Swipe to see both colour schemes - only minor differences but I love the black windows!

21.01.2022 Let’s talk E N S U I T E S ! This shouldn’t be the afterthought bathroom to your overall house design! The space should feel open + inviting! While they don’t all have ample space for a bathtub, things like double showers and large vanities should be included if possible. This is a pro bono service that offers building design and/or planning approval services free of charge to those directly effected by the bushfires. ... If you need assistance or are able to help visit www.architectsassist.com.au I am currently in the USA for the Christmas period + it has been heartbreaking to watch what’s going on from the other side of the world! I had planned to share all the ideas, design styles, amazing homes from this side of the world but it just doesn’t feel right at this time. I will share these ideas + images in a new design series a little later in the year. I will be back in the office January 23rd.
