16.01.2022 Today during a guide job. A heart stopping situation came up. To start out my dogs are athletes and trained to retrieve my bird through any cover. Any conditions and any distance. During the guide the dogs locked up on point. I flushed the pheasant and the hunters knocked it down on the opposite side of a 5 ft fence. Colt hurdled the fence with Dominos right behind him. Thats when things got scary. Now ive seen legs get caught when jumping fences and luckily none of my dogs w...ere ever injured doing this. ( and yes I try to discourage the fence jumping) but these dogs are trained hard to retrieve my birds.. Well back to the incident, as Dominos was jumping the fence. Some how his jaw got hung up with the fence. Spinning him around and hanging from his jaw as his body crashed into the ground. I was within feet of this happening and jumped as soon as i could to free his jaw. Some how he was able to free himself and proceeded after the bird. Colt brought the bird back. And as Dominos was coming back I noticed alot of blood coming from his mouth. I stopped the hunt and looked him over without finding a source of the bleeding. I kept a close eye on him and kept him close to me ( as much as he would allow) he definitely wasnt going to let a little blood slow him down. After several minutes the bleeding came to a rest. And Dominos was back to pointing and retrieving birds. I have never seen this and pray i never see it again. Guiding hunts with these great dogs is defintely my passion. Watching the drive these dogs have is beyond satisfying. And seeing how tough they are is beyond words. But with all that said. The work guides like me put into our dogs to give hunters a hunt they will always remember. Thats priceless. Some hunters appreciate the hard work and the excitement of the hunt and definitely give us great tips. Today was one of them days. But days like today, the best part was bringing my boys home safe. 14.01.2022 It was another great day watching Paige work the field with her sire James and her half brother Dominos on a 50 bird chukkar hunt. Paige kept the attention on her. With some great points excellent retrieves and to make herself more impressive. She honored some of james and dominos points from 30+ yards away. For a 7 month old pup she definitey proved her worth. Proud owner, breeder, trainer of these great pups

11.01.2022 had a great morning hunt. 18 birds releases 21 down and some still flying. the gwp gwp boykin team is working great.

11.01.2022 Update on Paige's first upland hunt as a guide dog. I am happy to say Paige earned her spot on the roster and is now officially an upland guide dog. With solid points, solid honors (backs) and solid retrieves. Not only did she impress me she stunned the hunters with her ability to not only keep up with James and Annie. But hunt independently without following them. Book your hunt with me and watch this girl work..

10.01.2022 The last bit of Training with Paige before she steps into the field as an official upland guide dog. I am definitely excited to see her work a large field. To break her in right she will be running with her sire James and dam Annie. Paige has proven to me she has what it takes. With great disposition and a proven nose. Will she make a mistake or two probably but so will I.

02.01.2022 One of my favorite hunts to date. Was with Jared and his daughters. Brianna proved that she is an exceptional shot. Impressing me and her father with some great shooting. She also had a sense of humor when her boot came off in 10 inches of black mud. Jared did a great job with these girls. Im definitely looking forward for another season with this family. If you ever wondered why I do what I do. Well the answer is in the picture.

01.01.2022 twister is up for adoption, contact me if you or anyone you know is interested
