25.01.2022 Hey everyone, A bit more of a serious post that unfortunately disheartens me quite a bit. Recently I found out that one of my business clients were sold pirated software by their previous I.T manager at full retail price without being told it was pirated. 09.01.2022 This is why backups are so important. Unfortunately my first job thats come through the door since ive started Straight up I.T was a cryptolocker/ransomware. What does it do? it goes through EVERY SINGLE important file on your computer, This means photos, documents, videos, powerpoints and more. Theyre all encrypted which means that you cant access them or read them. ... Unfortunately for this customer, the virus was asking him to pay 2 bitcoins (Approx $11,000). The customer now has the tough decision of paying $11,000, losing all their documents or waiting up to decade for someone to find a solution for this specific ransomware. 05.01.2022 BACKUPS: What's your plan in case your device loses all its data? what's your plan in case all your work, photos, documents and videos go corrupt? On Friday a very lovely lady brought in her laptop, it didn't leave my sight from 9am to 5pm, I worked on it all day. Unfortunately, her drive had failed and I had to tell this lovely person that the 2 years of work she had done on the laptop was unfortunately gone.
