24.01.2022 For those concerned and those who are not concerned but are working with Strait on Elton, dont forget to bring your whitecards with you. If you dont have one you bloody should by now. Jump online and get one, it only takes a few minutes and when you have completed it you will be able to print out a confirmation that your good to go. Obviously as with all things the government issue they will want some of your cash for it, i believe around $35 to $50 depending on who you go through.

Been a very interesting time good and bad since we last posted, SAFETY... there has been some development on the WHS front - basically rules and regs are getting tighter and as a result people are going to need WHITE CARDS just to get into venues, then you will need to be signing in and out of that venue. Steel capped or actual safety boots are going to be enforced soon. All this shit is going to be a bit of a pain in the arse but its coming anyway and it will be here forever , so you might as well jump on board now , plus it will mean that less of you are likely to die on the job , which i know is less exciting but does mean less time of work attending funerals. FALLS FESTIVAL Part of this sweeping WHS revolution is now ALL crew working at FALLS FESTIVAL this year will need to complete the induction set out by the FALLS organisers. It is a standard induction similiar to ones that most of you have probably done before , when you complete the induction it will automatically register with the FALLS people and you will be good to go. If its any consolation Steve and Forthy do these every year for Falls. Between the wind , rain, mud, rain, cold one minute then hot the next, rain, and just generally all round shitty conditions, you guys and gal just powered through and got the job done. You MUST do this, or we are required by law to withhold 46% for tax ! You dont want to lose the money and we dont want to do the paperwork, so send us the fukin form please. 16.01.2022 Howdy folks and Straitos, just a quick word on a few topics from the 2 twits at the top. Quiet time. Obviously if have not worked it out, we are at that time of the year were we turn into a desert wasteland of drought and famine and things die out. Until we expand to the mainland this will happen every year unfortunately, its just one of the downsights to Tassie being so small, but as always we will struggle through to the otherside when things will pick up again. ... Invoicing. The majority of you are yet to jump on the invoice train. It is very important that we all get on this eventually, we have time, but it needs to happen or there could be big big trouble. If you are having any hassles with this just give Steve or Forthy a call and we can start sorting it out. Insurance. Everybody needs to seriously consider their insurance (coverage)policy or lack of. Due to things changing with our insurance after 2017, there will most likely be instances where this will affect you guys as well. We know the whole insurance thing can be a big headf%$k and some people find it confusing. We are looking at what we can sort with our insurance broker, but either way full coverage for yourself for a year is cheaper than what you think and can be paid by gig or month or year. We hope to speak to everyone before the end of the year and then go to our broker. Please call us if this is something you need to sort. Strait website. Went fukin awesome mainly due to tassie having the best crew in the country but also that the Oils have managed to put together one of the best touring crews around, all great guys to work with. Great to see some our Tassie guys out there smashing it on tour, nice one colin, steve and luis.

10.01.2022 Strait Crewing lost a member of the family this weekend. he had been working in the industry for 20 yrs and was good fun to work with. Some of his methods and ideas were a little unorthodox which made him a unique character, but this was one of the things that made him such a likeable guy. R.I.P Adam Peacock.

Things to consider - we will have the usual crew van going up and own for the in and out, or do you intend to stay down there. To all the new guys who stepped up , we thankyou, to all you older hacks who wanted to relax and then still came out for a spin, we thankyou. Despite some crazy shift times and some transport issues, it would appear that everything went fuckin awsome ! This is due to working with good mobs like VJAM,Alive, Circa41, OPCON and others, but mainly because you guys fuckin ROCK. From us at Strait , THANKS HEAPS. Pays for everything should be sorted by thurs 15th if all goes well. On a much sadder note, Deepest sympathies for brother BOO who had his mums funeral today. We all know BOO as one of the biggest hearted people out there wholl help anyone.We hope the day ended in really happy memories mate.
