New solo album by Eiko Ishibashi, her first since her acclaimed 2018 Drag City releaseThe Dream My Bones Dream.This album finds Ishibashi shifting further away from her earlier piano-led songwriting and showing a deepening interest in electronics and audio collaging. Produced with regular collaborators Jim O’Rourke (double bass) and Joe Talia (percussion), O’Rourke’s immersive mix creates a three-dimensional effect, with Ishibashi’s various sound sources enmeshing and interacting in captivating ways.

Some late RSD titles have just arrived today, including Lou Reed & John Cale's tribute to Andy Warhol, 'Drella'. We also expect to have our colour PROTEAN THREAT arrive tomorrow, for those who pre-ordered and wish to collect.... That makes it a late October arrival, as promised and updated on the Protean Threat product page (the BEST way to follow the status of pre-ordered titles) at our website. Some rules apply on entry - such as face mask, use of sanitiser, and per government procedure you must provide your first name and phone number. With a maximum of six in the store, we ask that you keep your browsing shortish - or have thought ahead what you're after - in order to prevent a queue forming. Reuniting with guitarist Charles Moothart and bassist Chad Ubovich and given the Steve Albino treatment, III is a taut and and electrifying experience. 08.01.2022 Twelve months ago today saw the release of our Album of the Year (2019) being @simonjoynermusic POCKET MOON. We've written plenty about the wonderful arrangements, as well as fragility and humanity of the lyrics. Most of you have never heard of him - something we tried to remedy by plugging his excellent double opus from 2017, Step Into The Earthquake. It was our Album of the Year too and we sold plenty. Couldn't count the number of times somebody heard it in the store and lo...oked up from the Rock/Pop section to ask "Is this Lou Reed?" Much of Step Into The Earthquake was written during the previous U.S election campaign, another of which is about a week away. Joyner's disgust at Trump's policies shone through in tracks like As Long As We're In Danger or his modern-day protest anthem I'm Feeling It Today: "I've seen enough cellphone and dashcam videos to wonder / where's this land of the free? There's a riot goin on, spin the juries 'til they're hung / Bring the war armor and the pepper spray / 'Better blue than true' won't do tomorrow / Because we're feeling it today America said, let's just rip off the scab / and sink that French b!tch into the bay / "If that was an election," the folksinger laughed, / "I'll take my chances with the NRA" Like many, huge plans were in motion for 2020 until, well 2020... Simon Joyner has been on a career-high path for a bunch of albums now and you would do well to climb aboard. We keep as many of his albums in stock as available and hope Simon will continue to allow us to work with him on future releases and reissues.

In our haste to open, seems we missed a few boxes worth of @castlefacerecs goodies, so if you were one of the many through the doors here's a small sample of those not in the racks until now. It's worth repeating that as we're sending out Protean Threat colour vinyl preorders - yes, it arrived late Oct as promised - you can add to the order and select Pickup as your ship...ping option. Remixes, field recordings and sonic experiments - a second version of Protean Threat if you will. Arriving in time for its Dec 11 release and sold out at the source.
