20.01.2022 Do yourself a favour and watch this episode of A Current Affair on COVID-19. It shows what’s happening in Italy and how we are under-reacting. Surprisingly, commentators I respect like Alan Jones are doing the public a great disservice by underplaying this virus, when they’re the ones in the virus’ sight and likely to cause grave harm. And because Australians aren’t taking the virus as seriously as the Government, not only will economic consequences be dire, it’s now only a matter of time before full-scale lockdowns will inevitably apply in Australian cities. It’s not the Government’s fault, it’s our fault. 02.01.2022 Sorry to burst the ‘cure’ hysteria. The Queensland clinicians after money for a clinical trial are simply replicating what has already been done overseas. The combination of medications they suggest may help abrogate the severe manifestations of COVID infection, but are far from a cure. Clinically useful? Perhaps. Replicating what is already being done? Absolutely. Not novel. Not a cure, but perhaps a useful strategy to mitigate some complications in severely effected patients.
