17.01.2022 Today is the day! After months of work the community is ready to take over the management of The Stratford Courthouse. With amazing support from Wellington Shire Council and Regional Arts Victoria and a new community committee we are all set to open the doors again to this amazing space. Obviously due to current restrictions we cant fully open the doors yet but we can still take your bookings so get in touch if you need a venue to run a dance class, to host a meeting, rehear...se a band or whatever you want. Were looking forward to seeing Rachael back with kids drama classes and our first big event with a live streamed Stratford Singer Songwriters event on July 31. Thanks for all your support and love and for trusting us to get this party started.

17.01.2022 Attention All Cooped Up Kids It's time to Act Out! The Courthouse Kids Need You - classes are due to start Monday but we need more enrollments. Please see the following from our drama leader extraordinaire Rachael Nicholls.... Thank you to those who have already registered their children for the acting classes that are set to resume on Monday July 13. Unfortunately unless we get a few more registered it will not be viable to go ahead. In the past we were pretty relaxed and kids just rocked up and paid whenever. However with new Covid19 restrictions and under the new Courthouse Theatre Management we need to know exactly how many kids are going and it needs to be prepaid. Please share this among mates who have kids that might be interested. This is an inclusive all abilities program that increases social and emotional learning, empathy, positive communication, healthy relationships, active listening, imagination and improved self esteem. Most importantly we have HEAPS of fun! If your child is an NDIS participant please get in touch as I am also a disability service provider. RACH xx

04.01.2022 THE HANDMAIDEN, Korean Crime Drama Screening for the Court Film Society Thursday 7th Cafe and Bar open at 7pm for 7.30 screening, no booking required... From PARK Chan-wook, the celebrated director of OLDBOY, LADY VENGEANCE, THIRST and STOKER, comes a ravishing new crime drama inspired by the novel FINGERSMITH by British author Sarah Waters. Having transposed the story to 1930s-era colonial Korea and Japan, Park presents a gripping and sensual tale of a young Japanese Lady living on a secluded estate, and a Korean woman who is hired to serve as her new handmaiden, but who is secretly involved in a conmans plot to defraud her of her large inheritance. Powered by remarkable performances from KIM Min-hee as Lady Hideko, HA Jung-woo as the conman who calls himself the Count and sensational debut actress KIM Tae-ri as the maid Sookee, THE HANDMAIDEN borrows the most dynamic elements of its source material and combines it with PARK Chan-wooks singular vision and energy to create an unforgettable viewing experience.
