22.01.2022 Did you know that it's been 30 years since the Bike-A-Thon started? I found this picture from 1998 of the Bike-a-Thon. The fellow in the front was the Principal at the time - Mr Jo Harder. The 2017 Bike -a-thon will be held on Saturday 27th May around Muir Park. I thought it was fitting to look back at this great event. Do you remember the bike-a-thon?
19.01.2022 Great News! Shelby Rathjen has been awarded The Dorothea Swift Scholarship in Nursing at Edith Cowan University, which is a three year scholarship. Shelby’s name is on a plaque on the wall in the School of Nursing at ECU Joondalup. Fantastic news for one of our Alumni. Well Done Shelby. We would love others to share their achievements here.

14.01.2022 We love hearing from our Alumni students. This is Cassidy Watson, who graduated in 2013. She recently completed her Bachelor of Science (Nursing) at Curtin Uni...versity and has been offered a graduate position at a tertiary hospital within the Perth Metro area, working in critical care which is where she would like to practice in future. Last year she travelled with fellow nursing friends to Tanzania (picture). Congratulations Cassidy. See more

AACS would love to read your reflections and stories as it will help us provide examples in our face-to-face advocacy and submissions of real stories from Christian school communities. Some topics to aid your thinking are: Overcoming spe...cific challenges Collective pearls of wisdom Teamwork Local community involvement Something that happened that made you proud of your school Why do you love your school? What challenges did you overcome with the help of your school community? Someone you looked up to and why? What was it like starting a school from scratch? Why and how did you do it? 09.01.2022 Celebrating 40 Years in 2019! Did you know that it will be Strathalbyn Christian College’s 40th Birthday next year? From humble beginnings in 1979, our College has come a long way. Planning has commenced for a formal event on the weekend of 20, 21 & 22 September 2019 - please set the dates aside, with more information to come in 2019.... If you would like to be part of the 40th Anniversary Planning Committee, please contact Anna Hollander - [email protected]. We have produced a special limited edition commemorative calendar which will be a beautiful keepsake and a great gift. There are lots of lovely photos that cover different aspects of the College over the past 40 years. Pre-Orders will be open this week. 04.01.2022 We opened a time capsule this week which was buried in 2004 (25th Anniversary). Mrs Calwell’s Year 1 class made this fabric banner ... drawing their portraits and signing their names. The students graduated in 2015.

02.01.2022 We are delighted to share news of another of our awesome Alumni students, Naomi de Ridder, Class of 2010. Naomi is currently working at King Edward Memorial Hospital doing her Graduate year as a Midwife, which she said she absolutely loves. Recently Naomi received 3 awards: The ‘St John of God Hospital Subiaco Midwifery Award/Prize’ for excellence in academic work and clinical practice; A ‘Certificate of Distinction’ for completion of the course at a high level; and ‘King Edw...ard Memorial Hospital for Women Clinical Midwifery Prize’ for being an outstanding midwifery student who had completed concurrent (clinical) employment at KEMH. When I asked Naomi if we could share her achievements on our Alumni page she said I don’t like blowing my own drum, but it’s good to show others what can be achieved with hard work and determination! Congratulations Naomi. You were a wonderful Deputy Head Girl in your final year at the College, and we are all so proud of you.
