15.01.2022 Today we remember the brave men who sacrificed their lives during the Battle of El Alamein - Today marks the 78th anniversary of the Battle of El Alamein, one of the turning points of WWII. #rememembertoremember #lestweforget Image Courtesy: AWM

14.01.2022 Strathalbyn RSL is sadden by the passing of Jack Hallam. He was commissioned to the Army Reserve and served in the Pacific for the duration of the War. Lest we forget.

11.01.2022 On this day we remember - 2nd September 2008 will be a day forever etched in my mind as the day that I stood and fought side by side with some of the bravest and most selfless men that I have ever known. For Australia, it is a day marked as the worst battle since Vietnam when it happened, and the day the actions of Mark Donaldson would earn him the Victorian Cross, the first awarded since Vietnam. #moderntheatre #recentconflicts #MEAO #ADF #alliedforces #lestweforget

08.01.2022 Some gave all, all gave some and some continue to give. Despite Australia being involved in conflicts from the Boer War to modern operations and everything in between over the past 140 years, the understanding of the returning service men and women has never been good. When you pause to remember today - remember not just those who didn’t come home, but those that did who continue to fight. ... Lest we forget.

07.01.2022 A very fitting tribute to the community commitment to serving Australia dedicated at today’s Remembrance Day Service. Many thanks to all involved in establishing the new memorial. To those who served - and continue to serve - we say thank you. Lest we forget.

03.01.2022 On this day we commemorate 103yrs since the Charge of Beersheba, where the Australian Light Horse galloped into a front of enemy machine guns - and out rode the capacity to adjust aim fast enough to secure the well (for water) in the small town of Beersheba. Lest we forget.

03.01.2022 Due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions Legacy Badge day will be virtual for 2020. The Strathalbyn community has always been amazing supporters of the local Legacy group and the RSL, and we thank you in advance for your ongoing support in a very difficult year. https://www.adelaidelegacy.org.au//legacy-b/50/credit-card

01.01.2022 Just over 20 years ago, on September 20, 1999, an Australian led, multinational peacemaking mission known as INTERFET (The International Force East Timor) helped to bring peace and stability to East Timor after years of unrest. In the days leading up to the INTERFET deployment, the Chief of the Defence Force at the time, Admiral Chris Barrie, said INTERFET would be ‘the most significant military undertaking we [Australia] have had since World War Two.’ Image Courtesy: Australian Defence Force. #INTERFET21
