These 47 Victorian Councils have come together to drive investment in renewable energy, resulting in pooling 238GWh of electricity. After moving to Ruffy for a tree-change, David wants to use his corporate background to support local businesses as they face unprecedented challenges. The Victorian Government is introducing the scheme in 2023 to increase beverage container recycling and reduce litter in Victoria. Under the scheme, when empty beverage containers such as small plastic and glass bottles or aluminium cans are returned to a refund collection point, a cash refund will be provided for each container returned.... This important database includes detailed snapshots of our roads, parks, playgrounds, swimming pools and more. After making a tree-change to the region in 2019, she has thrived in our region and adores the beautiful night skies.... Dawn is also known for her excellent communications skills in fact, they are known around the globe. She is an amateur ham radio operator (she even sat an exam), where she talks with other operators from as far away as the US, Europe and Japan. Welcome aboard. 16.01.2022 Fantastic news for our Shire the new bridge across Seven Creeks from the Friendlies to Memorial ovals is open! The Friendlies Pedestrian Bridge, near Gobur St in Euroa was an (almost) $400,000 project funded by Council and the Victorian Government. The new bridge will link key sporting facilities in our town and create new pathways for events like the Euroa Parkrun.

14.01.2022 Our Mayor Chris Raeburn spoke to the Joint Standing Committee inquiry into the National Broadband Network (NBN) recently and told them the struggle for internet speed and reliability in the region was unacceptable. 13.01.2022 A farm girl with a corporate background Suzanne Kerr is the perfect addition to Strathbogie Shire through the #workingforvictoria scheme. Suzanne joins us as an Asset Planning Administration Officer, where she will give back to the community through assisting with the management of Council assets. She brings with her many valuable skills, as well as an intense respect for rural life.... On our farm, I do love my cows. We have mostly beef cows and two dairy cows which I don’t really milk. One’s my pet really. I bought her as a poddy calf and raised her. She’s still really friendly and comes up for a kiss and cuddle occasionally. We look forward to sharing in all your achievements. 12.01.2022 Extend a warm welcome to Jenni Johnston who has joined Strathbogie Shire as a Transfer Station Support Officer through the #workingforvictoria scheme. A self-confessed Jack-of-all-trades, Jenni is aiming to give back to rural Victoria in any way she can during the pandemic. Her many and varied skills are needed, too, as she provides operational support for the seven transfer stations located within the Shire. In my life I’ve done everything from milking cows to working in ...administration roles, so I’m here to do whatever needs to be done. I love this community and I’m enjoying making new friendships, Jenni said. Jenni’s busy life extends beyond her work hours as well, with 140 alpacas at home to look after. Jenni spins their fleeces, when she finds time. And did we mention she also plays the guitar in a band! Great to have you onboard, Jenni! #workingforstrathbogie

07.01.2022 Did you know... You can recycle paper gift wrapping even if it has sticky tape on it? (not cellophane or foil wrapping). Or better yet reuse it next year! Aluminum foil (including foil baking trays) can be recycled if you loosely scrunch it into a ball at least as large as a golf ball.... Ham bones and prawn heads can go in your green bin. Wrap them in newspaper to help reduce smell. After Christmas you can bring your live Christmas tree into the transfer station and we can turn them into mulch. #wastefree #wastemanagement

A total of 66 submissions were received on our Draft Community Local Law No.2, more than 20 people attended online sessions to provide their thoughts and advice and Council officers had about 80 one-on-one phone discussions.
