24.01.2022 There will be a temporary closure of the Strathfieldsaye BMX Jumps site between Monday July 13 and Friday July 17, 2020. We will be undertaking some essential r...estoration and tree safety work to the Sheep Wash Creek and will need to temporarily close this site for safety while the works are completed. The Strathfieldsaye BMX Jumps are located on both culturally and environmentally sensitive land and this work will help preserve it for the future. The work will be undertaken when weather conditions permit at some stage during the week of July 13-17. We apologise for any inconvenience the works may cause and the site will reopen when the work is complete.

19.01.2022 Hi all, We hope you are all doing well and keeping safe. I'm sure all of you know that there are 3 schools in Bendigo that are closed due to positive cases o...f Coronavirus. Our daughter is a student at one of the campuses. To ensure the safety of our family, our staff and of course our customers we are taking precautionary measures and will be getting tested for the virus. We have young and old come through our shop everyday and we also have young and old that work at the shop and we want to do whats best for everyone. As we will be taking the test, we have been instructed to self isolate until we receive our results. Until we know the outcome of our results the shop will be closed until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause but at the end of the day we need to do what's best for our business, our family and the community. We hope to be back up and running in no time and we will keep you all updated as to when we will be back, so make sure you keep an eye on our page. Take care of each other, look after yourselves, social distance, sanitise, wash your hands and wear a mask. Thanks again guys, Nicko, Tools and staff xo

17.01.2022 Update on building positive relations with council to further freestyle BMX opportunities in the Bendigo region: As some people may be aware events at Strath tr...ails have pushed local users and advocates to further the process of building positive and constructive relationships with council and other community organisations, I would like to provide an update on how this has been progressing and offer opportunities for members of the local BMX community to increase their levels of involvement. At present we have established an advisory committee to maintain communications with City of Greater Bendigo on behalf of the users at Strath trails, this has resulted in proactive support from council to provide assistance in maintaining and improving the Strathfieldsaye site into the future. Strathfieldsaye & Districts Community Enterprise have also been providing advice and assistance on formalising a user group to allow us to access additional benefits for the promotion and maintenance of freestyle BMX culture in Strathfieldsaye. At present we are looking towards the goal of formalising an incorporated club based around a common interest of freestyle BMX in the greater Bendigo region, this will open us up to a wide range of opportunities that will benefit the local BMX scene. Some of these opportunities may include: -capacity to apply for grants and other funding opportunities -provide memberships and member benefits -establishing clear lines of communication between users and council -hosting events and competitions We are currently seeking expressions of interest from: -Community minded individuals interested in being part of an incorporated club committed to promoting freestyle BMX in the Greater Bendigo region. -Users of Bendigo's other existing BMX sites who are interested in establishing a connection with the club to begin the process of improving BMX sites in other areas of Bendigo as representatives of each sites core users If you are interested in either: -Growing the freestyle BMX scene in Bendigo or -Providing feedback or suggestions on BMX facilities in Bendigo Please send through an email to [email protected] I will do my best to respond as promptly as I'm able and look forward to working collaboratively for the future of freestyle BMX in the region. Kind regards Strath Local

13.01.2022 Hi Everyone, just following up from our post last week. We have received our results and they have come back negative. We will be back Wednesday, 5th of August ...at 11am. Just a few house keeping rules: There are to only be 4 people in the shop at a time. From 5pm onwards the door to enter the shop will be blocked by the register and you will be served from the door. We were only doing this from Friday through to Sunday but we have decided that we will now be doing this from Wednesday through to Sunday. If you do not have a mask you will not be served and turned away, we understand this might be unfair but we need to look after our staff and customers. Eftpos is also available, so if you do not have cash you can pay by card. We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday and we just wanted to thank you all for your comments in our last post, it was very humbling to see and we appreciate all the love. Have a great night and we look forward to seeing you all throughout the week. Thanks, Nicko, Tools and staff XO
