25.01.2022 St Aidens kindergarten have been a major supporter from day 1, and these fabulous planter boxes form a part of an overall project including a mud sink and new notice board which will be completed in the next few weeks. Thanks to Ian A and his willing helpers for the great job. Great and meaningful projects while making new friends; that's what we are all about. 24.01.2022 From The Australian Men's Shed Association; The health and wellbeing of the Mens Shed community is of the highest priority to the Australian Mens Shed Association. Following last (Monday) nights Federal Government advice on non-essential services, we recommend that Mens Shed Management Committees implement a temporary closure of all Mens Sheds, to be reviewed as further advice is provided by the Government. For the latest Federal Government information please refer to th...e Federal Department of Health website: www.health.gov.au//novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert During this closure, we encourage Shedders to maintain contact with each other via phone, email or social media - look out for your mates. We are working on a number of new initiatives to be launched within the coming weeks, aimed at helping Shedders to remain socially connected during this time of isolation. Our support network has been there with us during this year and we are seeing our vibrant and sustainable facility grow and give more back to its members and our community. 19.01.2022 Sadly with Covid-19 proving to be a determined virus we have to again close our beloved Shed until further notice. This will be a hard time and for some it will be very distressing. The committee are here to help you in whatever way we can. Email [email protected] to contact us.
18.01.2022 We have been advised by the council that the access road to the shed and carparking front of the shed are being resurfaced with work commencing next Tuesday 1st October and will be completed by Thursday 10 October. During this period it is most likely that you will have to park in Mascoma Street and walk down to the shed. Please follow any directions given by Traffic Controllers. Note we will be having normal shed operations on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

13.01.2022 Brunswick North West Primary School Tables and Bench Seats The work that has been ongoing for the last 3 months at the Shed has resulted in some very happy people at the school and these photos help explain why. This was a huge project, in terms of space, materials and timing. To the whole team, and especially Ric, Graeme, Ian and all the willing helpers well done. Ian has been an enthusiastic and popular member since the Shed opened in 2015. He comes along every week, is always friendly and helps others. This award is voted by the Sheddies. Well done!
13.01.2022 The Strathmore Men's Shed is having its 3rd year of presenting the Rotary Pride of Workmanship award to the most deserving sheddie, on Saturday 12 October at 11:00 am with a free BBQ to follow. This will coincide with Moonee Valley City Council's launch of the Lapidary Club's new premises adjacent to the Men's Shed at 12:30. Come along and support our Shed.

07.01.2022 Good health is based on many factors including feeling good about yourself, being productive, contributing to your community, connecting with friends and maintaining an active body and mind. Becoming a member of a Mens Shed provides a safe and busy environment where men can find many of these things in an atmosphere of old-fashioned mateship. And, importantly, there is no pressure. Men can just come and have a yarn and a cuppa if that is all theyre looking for. Members of Mens Sheds come from all walks of life the bond that unites them is that they are men with time on their hands and would like something meaningful to do with that time.

Grilld Moonee Ponds through their Local Matters programme will donate $$$ to the charity who gets the most tokens and this month we have our very own Strathmore Men's Shed in the running for $300. Get in there before October 31st to support our Shed.
06.01.2022 ALL MEMBERS PLEASE NOTE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY THE STRATHMORE MEN'S SHED WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ... This decision has been carefully considered and is being taken to ensure the health of Shed members is not compromised by attendance at the Shed due to exposure to the COVID 19 virus. The Moonee Valley City Council decided this morning to suspend all group activities involving vulnerable citizens which includes their men's shed operations. Council officers recommended that we do the same and this recommendation has been endorsed by the Strathmore Men's Shed Management Committee. We understand that this may be disruptive to member's lifestyles but your health is of paramount importance to our committee and facilitators. Over the next two mornings (Tuesday 17/03/2020 and Wednesday 18/03/2020), some facilitators will be in attendance at the Shed to enable you to call in and collect any of your personal items including projects which you may wish to work on at home. We will monitor developments in relation to the Corona Virus and will reopen the shed as soon as it is considered safe to do so. Please check your emails regularly for any updates and thank you for your understanding of this potentially hazardous and continuously evolving adverse health situation.
