19.01.2022 Here's a little treat for your Saturday evening. Love it when the clients take bespoke to another level and throw a curveball (ba dum tsss) This tv unit needed to be on a wall that funneled into the bedrooms etc off the lounge. So instead of making it a square edge that would narrow the path we decide to curve it. This is the result of many hours work and a technique called steam bending. The continuous horizontal grain around the curve and through the push to open drawers is a thing of beauty. 10.01.2022 The Strezlecki Gum is one of hundreds of Eucalypt species in Australia. Unlike the Mountain Ash, Messmate or Silvertop that prosper on high ground with good drainage, the Strezlecki likes to keep its toes wet. You'll find it in swamp areas and along creek and river banks. This one grows on our back boundary and will become a mentor for future Strezlecki Gums planted on the property to look up to. Top right pic are buds that will become next years pods. Seed pods, pictured bottom right, were collected for revegetation

08.01.2022 This incredible Mountain Ash is literally a stones throw from our workshop. It's enormity and presence always inspires us to continue on our sustainable path. The biodiversity of one old growth tree is pretty awesome. It can home hundreds of species of wildlife alone. From birdlife, insects, marsupials to our cold blooded reptiles. We decided to measure it's girth and estimate her age. By measuring the circumference we can get an average diameter and based on the tree speci...es it turns out this old girl is just short of 300 years old........ .......That's pre-colonial Australia....... We collected some seed pods that will be a feature in future posts so stay tuned for more details on the world's 2nd tallest tree (only dwarfed by the Sequoia aka Californian Redwood), the Australian Mountain Ash. Circumference: A massive 9.2 meters Est Age: 292 years young

It was a big year of juggling work and homeschooling for lots of people and without that solid base it can become almost impossible.
