20.01.2022 What is the link between platypus abundance and a waterway's physical form? Can we better understand the threats, processes and structures needed for platypuses to thrive in the environment? Streamology has been investigating this alongside Ecology Australia and the Australian Platypus Conservancy.... Here is a little photo diary from our field trip to assess and map physical form and habitat requirements. (NB: Pictures taken prior to Social Distancing)

18.01.2022 It's been a big year so far, stay up to date with our NEW Streamology Newsletter! https://www.streamology.com.au/news/2020/2/27/february-news

17.01.2022 Geoff and Steve were all smiles after receiving the Stormwater NSW 'Excellence in Research and Innovation' award in Sydney yesterday! A very happy day for the team. This project holds BIG potential, and we're excited to see it shape waterways across the country! Many thanks to CTEnvironmental, Sydney Water and the University of Melbourne for collaborating on this project.

16.01.2022 It has taken considerably more planning and approvals but Streamology has managed to continue some of our remote area drone monitoring of banks and vegetation with a zero contact approach. Here we are at our Edward Wakool sites. Being out amongst it highlights the importance of contact with nature.

11.01.2022 How about this for a birds-eye view? Neil and Thom have been busy out in the field this week collecting imagery to help us to quantify the impact of flow on bank condition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3ymtNVcNOA&feature=youtu.be

11.01.2022 Here is a fantastic article explaining the benefits of managing stormwater on your property. We would love to hear about any initiatives you've implemented at your own place :) https://www.abc.net.au//rain-gardens-green-roofs-/11843114

10.01.2022 And now for some very joyous news! We are very happy to announce that Steve and Michaela have had a bouncing baby boy! Welcome to the world, River James Clarke.... Wishing Steve, Mic and River all the best for this exciting new chapter of life. We can’t wait to meet little River and watch him grow up enjoying the beautiful Ovens River at his doorstep.

08.01.2022 The Australian Stream Management Conference is always a big highlight for Streamology. It is a fantastic opportunity to get practitioners, scientists, researchers, policymakers and consultants together to share, collaborate and inspire. We all share the common goal of seeking to protect and restore Australian rivers, so these opportunities to actively work together to advance the industry are so important. We couldn't be more excited for August 2020! Thank you @RBMS for putting together this brilliant video.

07.01.2022 Fires have been at the top of our minds for the last month. In the North East of Victoria a third of the catchment has burned and they are not over yet. It is also now important for us to consider the post-fire impacts of heavy rain on burnt catchments, with their lack of retentive capacity, and mobile sediment loads. ... Streamology is working with authorities to help in this management. We are hoping to prevent some of the impacts we have seen previously (Photos: Gully debris flow, 2013, Great Alpine Road). Thank you to friends, family, clients, associates, the local community and all emergency responders for your much-appreciated support and efforts during the ongoing #vicfires and associated evacuation of our office in Bright. Our team members have now returned to the area safely, and are very grateful for all of the support and understanding

07.01.2022 A quick little Friday afternoon update from the Streamology Team...wishing you all a happy weekend!

06.01.2022 Last week it was wonderful to gather the team for an evening hike and picnic dinner up on beautiful Mount Buffalo after work. Streamology has recently opened a second office space in Carlton, where Thom and Neil are based, so it was especially nice to show them around our local national park here in Bright. Thom is our newest team member, and we are so happy to have him on board, bringing a wide range of skills to the team! Welcome on board Thom! Our picnic dinner at Mount B...uffalo was catered by the wonderful Dumu Balcony Cafe, a local social enterprise training indigenous youth in hospitality, retail, and tourism Stay tuned for some more pics!
