25.01.2022 Please read this media report about another stabbing, and the tragic loss of a young mans life. As I’ve always taught, when confronted with any type of violence you should always expect that the POS is armed. As was the case in this unfortunate attack, you should also never underestimate anyone holding a glass bottle. Stay safe, train often and always remain humble. Paul J ... 25.01.2022 Outstanding advice and 100% correct. There’s a huge difference between training in bullshit techniques where your attacker stands still and is compliant, compared to training for the Real World. When shit gets real, you’ll be thankful you were trained by SEKMI

11.01.2022 In November 2018 I was invited to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam to conduct a series of Street Edge Krav Maga seminars to various MMA gyms, as well as martial arts groups, security teams and government personnel. Whilst there I was asked if I’d like to be the mentor and trainer for a group of young up and coming fighters who had fights scheduled at a Fight Night a few days prior to me returning to Australia. As some of you may understand, there’s a huge difference between competitive ...fighting in a cage/ring, compared to Real World violence. For competition fighting there is a huge degree of physical and mental preparation, however; again this is very different to preparation for a Real World encounter. Furthermore, there are rules and several other factors that separate the two. Training several hundred amazing fighters over 10 days was an incredible experience, as well as extremely rewarding. What was very humbling was watching their growth and success as they incorporated many of our Street Edge Krav Maga mindset and tactical methodologies. No matter which style or system you train in, there’s always a benefit to looking outside the box, and out of your comfort zone. There’s no one perfect system or instructor, but at the end of the day it comes down to experience because when SHTF, experience counts Paul J Chief Instructor & Founder Street Edge Krav Maga International Australasia Representative Israeli Martial Arts Federation
11.01.2022 I’m very honoured and humbled today to receive accreditation as an Instructor with the International Military Combatives Organisation (IMCO). The IMCO is under the direction of the Federation of Israeli Martial Arts (FIMA), and Captain Dr. Itay Gil. The IMCO is dedicated to the education and advancement of Military Combatives training for all the branches of the Military and its allies. Israel has one of the the best military in the world. This was competence born out of n...ecessity to defend itself from continuous threats and attacks. Effective and realistic training is a necessary component of military skills development. IMCO brings these techniques, skills, and philosophy to its members. This is truly an honour as not only is the IMCO a prestigious organisation, but its standards are of the highest order and to receive accreditation as an instructor from both the IMCO, and Captain Dr Gil (who I’ve had the privilege to train with and learn from), is up there with some of the significant highlights of my 35 year career. I look forward to representing IMCO both here in the Asia/Pacific region, as well as globally. 08.01.2022 Know your enemy, and always be prepared. The difference between life and death is only seconds. If you aren’t training with the determination, and will to survive a violent attack, then all you are doing is just going through the motions Paul J
07.01.2022 When you walk towards a corner do you blindly just cut the corner, or have you been trained how to approach in a safe and practical manner? What if you thought there was someone hiding behind a corner and you had to go in that direction. Have you been trained to slice the PIE to ensure you are safe and not suddenly overwhelmed if a violent attack is carried out against you? At Street Edge Krav Maga International SEKMI, these are just some of the basic, yet essential skills and knowledge that YOU will learn to ensure that yourself, and your loved ones are prepared to remain safe
07.01.2022 Recently I was interviewed on a podcast conducted by the Warriors Den. The Warriors Den is run by my friend and Krav Maga Instructor Jonathan Fader of Urban Tactics Krav Maga in Canada. Jon served in the Israel Defense Forces’ Givati Infantry Brigade, 424th Infantry Battalion; initially as a light machine gunner, then later as a sniper. I first met Jon when we attended a CT707 Instructor Course run by Nir Maman in Los Angeles in late 2012. It was great to catch up with Jon... again and chat about a number if interesting subjects. I hope you enjoy this podcast and I welcome any feedback and comments. 01.01.2022 Motivational Lesson for Today
01.01.2022 If you have a bad attitude and your ego is overinflated, then it’s time to stop and rethink your mindset. No matter how many ranks you have, how many competitive fights you’ve had, or how many trophies or certificates you’ve got displayed at home or in your office, that all counts for absolutely nothing if you have a bad attitude, or your ego tells you that your some tough guy. Some POS that wants to fuck your day up doesn’t care about your ranks and certifications. If you under estimate your attacker, then they can easily cause you to bleed out It’s one thing to have a positive mindset, be confident in your skills and knowledge, and be a hard target, but always remain humble and leave the ego locked at home because Ego = Stupid, and Stupid can get you dead
01.01.2022 Excellent effort by all the kids and teens that attended our Algester class on Saturday. It’s so pleasing to see the ongoing efforts and development of our team at Krav4Kids In this video you’ll hear our younger kids inside the training room practicing their verbal skills ( challenges against a threat), whilst enhancing their physical self defence skills. Seeing our kids as young as 4 years of age doing this training gives us a sense of pride.... Also in the video you’ll observe a stress reaction drill that our teens do where they are using an improvised weapon ( stick) in conjunction with their self defence skills. To see these young warriors from 11-14 train with so much commitment is truly amazing. Well done team and on behalf of Portia, Justin and myself, keep up the excellent work. We are very proud of you all Stay Safe, Train Often, and always Remain Humble Paul J Chief Instructor & Founder Krav4Kids Street Edge Krav Maga International Australasia Representative Israeli Martial Arts Federation
