25.01.2022 Still a few spots left in the 5:30-6:00pm time-slot for New Club Regos and Renewals. Get on it now, we usually don't have a December Meeting!

24.01.2022 SMASA Christmas picnic is still on for people who have purchased tickets. Please don't let the weather stop you. It should dry up over the next couple of hours.

24.01.2022 If you are an expiring member. Emails were sent 2 weeks ago with renewal forms and info. Ease check your junk folders. Otherwise info is on our website. Please remember to add log book numbers to membership form and pay club Rego fees as well as membership fees so we don't have to chase you. This is making slot more work for our volunteers chasing people who do not complete forms or make correct payments. ... Log books need to be noted that are being paid for. Renewing members use https://s.docworkspace.com/d/ABn2gZiq8r1HwJO-9Z-dFA

23.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SMASA MEMBERS. Please take the time to read through it all. With the massive influx of people to the Car Club Scene/Club Registration Scheme, reportedly 5000 vehicles since the rules changes in July 2017, the SMASA Committee thought we would send out advice to Members on what to do now that the SMASA Membership year is coming to an end.... SMASA Membership. A membership ship year is a financial year. You will need to renew your membership and get your Log Book updated BEFORE 30th June 2018 to keep driving your vehicle on Club Registration. From 1st April a membership year costs $40 and ends on the 30th June of the following year. Club Rego Fees are $20 per year for the first vehicle and $10 per year for additional vehicles. SMASA offer multi year memberships of 1, 2 or 3 years. We encourage members to match their membership to their Club Rego log book, this makes things easier for everyone. If you have 2 years left on your log book(s), do a 2 year membership, then come back to us in 2 years time to get a new log book(s) and membership at which point you could do 3 years to match your new log book. Unfortunately Membership/Log book expiry rarely matches vehicle registration expiry, but the onus is still on the vehicle owner to make sure ALL of them are current as a condition of Club Rego. Club Rego Days Uptake was slow for the last one, don't make Club Rego part of the "Adelaide Curse" (leaving everything until the last minute). We release tickets based on demand and if the morning spots don't fill we don't release afternoon spots, it is not fair to hold our volunteers all day for them to be "twiddling fingers" for an hour two waiting for the afternoon crowd. The volunteers are getting paid nothing to help you access a scheme that lets you pay fair registration on your classic vehicles AND possibly save even more money with your insurer (COUGH, COUGH, Shannons). Details of the next Rego Day will be released soon. Country Regos For those regional towns that are 1-2 hours out of Adelaide, if a local can organise a group of 10-20 people wanting Club Rego (enough to justify sending someone out) we can look into getting someone out there. We have Rego Officers in Roxby Downs and Millicent that can also help out with people in those areas, get in touch for details. For people wanting Club Rego 3+ hours out of Adelaide, we have other alternatives, get in touch with an email to - [email protected] Questions! SMASA has dedicated Club Registration page in the web site, all the information you need should be there. Please read through it before emailing or calling with your question.

18.01.2022 It's been great to see so many more classic cars out on the road since the Labor Government improved club registration. Next weekend remember, a vote for Labor is a vote to keep supporting classic cars to get them out of the shed and on to the streets.

17.01.2022 Adelaide Rally East End Finale Party 7th December After four intense days and nearly 170 competition kilometres, the Adelaide Rally will conclude in style with a full-throttle finale party in the East End, on tarmac made famous as part of the former Adelaide Formula One street circuit.... From 2:30pm the full field of more that 250 rally cars will complete the Rally with an action-packed Super Special Stage on Rundle Road. The Super Special Stage is a 500-metre blast that is tight and technical, demanding acceleration and agility and delivering a spectacle of sights and sounds. Cars from across the decades will strut their stuff before receiving their medallions under the finish arch on East Terrace. Event Director Tim Possingham estimates it will take almost three hours for the field to complete the Super Special Stage. Weve got genuine World Rally Championship and Group B cars that really need to be heard to be believed, the latest exotic supercars, classic competition cars from across decades of motorsport, plus a huge variety of sports cars, muscle cars all wanting to put on a show to finish the event. Spectators will be able to view the action along the full length of the course. All of the Adelaide Rally vehicles will then be on display, along with a mini-village of new vehicles from Ferrari Adelaide, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley and Lotus from Zagame Automotive Group, Mercedes-AMG, BMW, MINI, koda and more. Also on display after appearing on the track, Australian F1 champion Alan Jones will drive the spectacular new McLaren 720S Spider and the Driftsquid, Jake Jones, will give a masterclass in the art of driving sideways in his 1000hp BMW M3. There will be off-track activities for all ages, including the Shannons Super Rig, an off-road remote-control car course, multiple slot car racetracks, racing simulators, and displays from Horsepower Crew and the Street Machine Association of South Australia, with live music from blues/rock band Ambush and tunes from deejay Driller Jet Armstrong throughout the afternoon and into the evening. NOLA Adelaide will operate a pop-up food and wine zone, and Vardon Avenue is hosting a Spanish Fiesta, plus of course the entire East End restaurant precinct provides plenty of options for all tastes.

At this stage we will be finishing up around 1:30pm unless the time-slots fill up, then we will release more tickets. Notification w...ill be sent when something is organised, we have given people plenty of opportunities and our volunteers need a break. You can still renew your membership using direct deposit and emailing a completed membership form, if your log book needs updating and you can't make the 24th, you cannot drive your vehicle until your log book is updated. 09.01.2022 The 2019 Shannons Adelaide Rally is shaping up to once again be the largest tarmac rally event in Australasia and the organisers have an exclusive offer for SMASA members. All SMASA members entering the Main Tour or Prima Tour categories will receive exclusive signed caps featuring the autographs of former and current Australian racing legends Jack Perkins, Todd Hazelwood and James Courtney. Entrants will also receive the required CAMS licencing at no charge.... Touring categories in the Adelaide Rally have become immensely popular, offering the freedom of closed road stages on tight and twisting Adelaide Hills roads no oncoming traffic, no cyclists, no pedestrians without the pressure or technical requirements of competition. Both Main Tour and Prima Tour are open to modern and classic vehicles pretty much any road-registered car may enter. The one-day Prima Tour includes five iconic Adelaide Rally stages, including Chain of Ponds, Corkscrew and Anstey Hill. Prima Tour concludes with lunch at the Applewood Distillery in Gumeracha, which is included in the entry cost. Here participants have the chance to rub shoulders with notable drivers and fellow enthusiasts. Participants take home a mini bottle of Applewood gin. The three-day Main Tour delivers 22 stages, each up to 22km in length, including the chance to drive full-noise in the CBD on the new Rundle Road Super Special Stage the sensational conclusion to the event in front of a crowd of thousands.
