24.01.2022 Cant beat the feeling of hitting a well earned PB! Online coaching client Kara pulled this 150kg deadlift which is a 10kg PB #onlinecoaching #strengthsportsgym #powerliftingaustralia #powerliftingwomen

23.01.2022 The young @patargaet throwing up a 130kg (7.5kg PB). After only a year of coaching, Patrick has managed to put 20kg on his bench He also only weighed 71kg for this, showing some strong potential to reach a double bodyweight bench in the next year or 2 ... #strengthsportsgym #coaching

22.01.2022 It was only 9 weeks ago that I had @patargaet test his bench, where he hit 130kg for the first time, which was a 7.5kg PB, and now he's hit 135kg! Still weighs 71kg, still benching twice a week and still For Patrick's last 3 bench cycles we have only increased his working weights by 2.5kg each time, although he is capable of more, there is no logical reason to increase them by more than this; more doesnt always mean better. ... With training, there is what you can do, and what you should do, often those arent the same thing Each cycle has a few key 'acccessory' exercises which Patricks progression in, appear to be helping drive his bench progression. En route to that double bodyweight bench! #coaching #programming #strengthsportsgym #powerliftingaustralia

21.01.2022 After youve watched Andrew pull 260kg for a 14kg PB, Check out the amazing sequence of photos of the girls supporting him as he locks it out! #strengthsportsgym

20.01.2022 Howwww good is this 245kg PB deadlift for @_marcoloh Looks to have a few more kilos in the tank too! Marco got his deadlift progressing well and looking great after we made a key technique change.... Onwards and upwards! #strengthsportsgym #coaching #brisbane #onlinecoaching #powerliftingaustralia

17.01.2022 Huge gains for Kye Squat 200kg 220kg Bench 150kg 165kg Deadlift 250kg 260kg... Kye signed up for online coaching wanting to increase his lifts across the board after his progress had stalled for quite a while. After just 5 months of working together we have been hitting new PB's on every lift, at every testing session so far. For alot of lifters that have hit plateaus, consistency and application to training is never the issue. #onlinecoaching #strengthsportsgym #powerliftingaustralia

12.01.2022 SSG resumes our regular trading hours from tomorrow (Saturday 6th of June) @ 9am. Thank you to all those who have supported us through this period!

11.01.2022 210kg Bench! @kainecullen hitting this big PB over in Egypt. Read below Truth be told, we didnt hit any PB's on our first training cycle working together ... This can absolutely happen when you first start working with a coach as it may take some time to figure out what works for the lifter. Giving your coach as much of your (detailed) training history can help in avoiding this when you first start working together, but often is the case with more advanced lifters like Kaine, it can take a little bit of time to figure out their recipe for success. Often, that recipe needs changing overtime, as just because something worked once or twice, doesnt mean it will continue to work forever. A great coach will look at all the variables that impact performance, and manipulate/ make changes to help achieve the desired outcome. Many of my lifters that I have been coaching for 2-5 years make more consistent and frequent strength progression now, than when we first started out. Why? Because I have so much detailed training history to refer to, and I focus on both short and long term development. Unfortunately there are alot of "coaches" out there that are essentially nothing more than a program or template, often just giving lifters "what worked for them", mostly because they dont know any better and dont care enough to educate themselves. 11.01.2022 Rest in peace to longtime SSG member, supporter and friend to many, Sunny Ho.

09.01.2022 212.5kg to 275kg Thats James' progression on his squat since starting with me in 2016 to now. This is a 15kg PB from his last squat test earlier in the year. And its a high bar squat too ... #strengthsportsgym #coaching #squat #powerliftingaustralia #powerlifting

08.01.2022 Not sure if @anniemegan was smiling because she just hit 30 reps on 110kg or because we told her she didnt have to do anymore Annie was in a 3 way deadlift battle in the name of charity @livinorg Little did we know that the girls would get anywhere near 30 reps with around 80% of their max deadlifts!... #strengthsportsgym #deadlift #powerlifting #powerliftingaustralia #brisbane

02.01.2022 The young greek at it again with this 142.5kg bench PB. @patargaet is about a away from hitting double bodyweight now. That's about 35kg we've added to his bench in 20 months.... #strengthsportsgym #coaching

I will continue to position SSG to survive, and thrive through this difficult period.... Im extremely grateful to the individuals that make up our amazing gym community for their continued support. Ill keep you updated with any further developments. Nick Dorn

Mum was di...agnosed with early stages of osteoporosis at 49 so we started weight training to improve her bone density. 7 years later, lots of hours in the gym, and we have some stronnggg bones.
